Opaque chestnut brown with a pillowy head and nice lacing. Aromas of nutty cocoa with a hint of bread. Flavors included almonds, aforementioned cocoa, and a bit of coffee. Very smooth, medium-bodied and flavorful. Iím getting to really like this brewer.

UPDATED: MAR 17, 2013 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, roasted nuts/grain), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Pretty bog standard rendition. A bit too sweet.

Brown with small brown head. Roasty nose with nut and caramel nose. Flavor was more nutty, with hints of carmalized sugar. Nice and malty with a touch of sour towards the finish.

Aubrey (3508) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2008
Dark ruby-red with a tan head. Has a weighted body, but itís relatively easy to drink. Nice balance between dark, sharp roast and sweet, grainy-peaty malt flavors. Some lactic-like sourness and a pinch of bitterness rounds things out well. Subtle flavors and aromas of nuts, caramel, coffee and light spices. Not too shabby, especially for a typically boring style.
