3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle - more of a dark red than brown - fizzy, short-lived head - nose is rather mellow - a bit of nuttiness, mild sweetness, light mineral, and a mildly earthy maltiness - moderate carbonation - a little thin bodied - initially rather sweet, with light bit of toffee - drier late, with a light burton-esque quality, but not enough to completely wash the sweetness away - moderate bitterness in the finish - a touch of warmth - nothing flawed, just a little thin and boring.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
(bottle - 22 oz - 2008 Brewmaster’s Reserve vintage) Dark brown/ruby red pour with a thick tan head. Lots of nuts and chocolate in the aroma with a generous malt and caramel backbone. Flavor starts with a smooth and rather roasty caramel and nut blend with a very lightly hopped followup. Finishes sweet and smooth with a light chocolate and nutty aftertaste. Held up very well for a year and a half old.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   This one isn’t Brown, it is one of the deepest Ruby colors I have seen.   Moderate to large frothy beige head, sticky lacing.   Looks durn good.   Malty nose, subtle roasted hints as well as cocoa.
A little barnish, like cow barnish.   Quite malty on the tongue, semi-sweet, a little cocoa, milk sugar, and soft roasted malts.   Could actually use a bit more hop bite, but as is its quite the Nut Brown.   I don’t know
why, but this seems like more of an Autumn seasonal.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Clean on the finish.   Well crafted, flavorful, certainly on the malt side.   Lingering cocoa lactose sweetness.   Glad to see
Full Sail doing this again.   Now if they could only go back to the neato labels they had years and years ago.
