Pours clear sepia with a thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma delivers notes of roast malt, chocolate and toffee. Flavor presents all that the aroma promises but with more chocolate, chocolaty sweetness, and a hint of lightly charred wood. Mouthfeel features firm body and OK fizz. Sail to the nearest package store or watering hole for one.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown color with a one finger head of cream colored foam. The head has a moderate level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a tiny bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell- The aroma of the brew is light overall, consisting mainly of some sweeter caramel and a little bit of roast. Along with these smells comes a little bit of nut and a hint of coffee. Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter roasted malt flavor mixed with a little bit of a nutty taste. As the taste advances the roastiness decreases to some extent, all the while being replaced by more caramel sweetness and taking on a more rich nutty taste. With a little bit of a brown bread taste and a hint of grain that come at the end, one is left with a rather sweet and smooth nut brown flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is average and has a carbonation level that is actually a little high for a nut brown ale. I would have liked a bit less carbonation and a bit more body for the style, but even with that said the feel was not bad, and the thinner and more carbonated style did do a decent job for the sweeter caramel tastes of the beer overall. Overall – An easy drinking and fairly sweeter nut brown. Not a bad brew overall.

This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking hazy brown color with a two finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a good full minute. The lacing was somewhat clingy. The smell was full of rich nutty and coffee like aromas intermingling quite well. The taste was mainly malty sweet and roasty adding in some light inviting chocolates, ccaramel, toffee and a light vanilla. There was a nice light roasty chocolate nutty coffee - like aftertaste that lead into a dry finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was there but it was kinda creamy, smooth and roasty. Overall, wow, what a nice brown ale well worthy of having again.

Bottle. Pours a clear and dark brown color with a moderate light tan head on there. Nose is a bit light, but has a nice mix of toast and nuttiness in there. Feels very effervescent at first which gives is a slight bitterness, but then mellows out into a slightly sweet nutty toast flavor. Decent, though nothing super amazing.

Bottle. Pours medium brown with thick, frothy brown head. Aroma is pecan/peanut, chocolate, dirt, dark coffee. Taste combines those aromas. I get a hit of chocolate but not as much as expected. More in the nose than anything else. Smooth, easy drinker. The nuttiness shines through here in a good way.

Standard US longneck, bad label. Deep, cola ruby-black, clear beer. Small bone-colored head. Malt-forward aroma with classic brown ale tones - cherries, cereal, grass. Lightly sweet, fruity, light cocoa, cereal, lightly tangy and very slightly husky-astringent. This hit on all the casting-central tones that I look for in an English-style brown ale. Medium body, very slight roast at the end. Publix, down near I-10.
