A deliciously rich barleywine that has spectacular depth and delicacy of flavor that is deep and robust. Its strong, sweet body is balanced with Centennial and Crystal hops for a pleasant hoppiness and finish. Makes a great cellar beer. Available in 22oz. bottles and draught year round. ABV 9% IBU 91

22 ounce bottle from 2005. A malt bomb. The hops and age give this beer a fruity character. The carbonation gave an acidic tinge on my tongue.

2011 bottle on 01/27/2012. Biscuity, malty, caramel, dough, butterscotch, golden, clear, minimal head, light sweetness, lightly sour, thin feel, light body, long finish, simply AWESOME, canít taste the alcohol, very well balanced with the hops.

This is the 2011 and probably would taste a lot different if aged. When tasting it the strong hop smell and flavor made me think it was an IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Danís house. Hazy reddish orange appearance with a tan head. Touch toasty malty, somewhat citrusy, earthy, lightly floral hoppy aroma. Floral, herbal hoppy, citrusy, fairly rich toasty malty flavor. Iím a little disappointed.

2010 Vintage courtesy of PaulUnwin. Pours a clear amber with a white head. Nose is light malt, floral hops, and a bitter white grapefruit and slight pine. Flavor is similar with some nice malt, bitter white grapefruit and some pine. Light in body for a barley wine, and finish lingers with citrus hops. Interesting barleywine.

Serving: 22 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a slightly hazy, deep amber color with large off-white head. The head settles pretty quickly. The nose has notes of dried fruit, especially dried banana. Some yeast. The flavor has a nice dose of bitterness, but the fruitiness is the ringleader here. A nice cherry note comes out as the beer warms. The alcohol is a little on the obvious side, present in both flavor and feel. There is a nice breadiness to this brew. Full bodied with lower carbonation leading to a medium to long bitter yet bready finish.

Pours a clear amber color with a small khaki head. Nose is syrupy brown sugar, caramel malts, spicy hops and a touch of a dark berries. Flavor is light malt balance with a lot of hop character to it. A bit thin, metallic and boozy. Itís alright.

Bomber from Liquor Loft. Aroma is sweet malt, orange peel, caramel, spice and wood. Taste is sticky sweetness - toffee, caramel, orange, bread, alcohol and grain. Leaves a long metallic bitter hop, spice finish. Wasnít loving on this. Harsh and alcohol comes on too strong.

10/27/11. 22oz bottle. Surprisingly clear light amber pour, an almost orange/reddish, with a small khaki head that sticks a little and laces plenty. Fruity aroma, but not dark like Iíd expect. Itís moreso banana and bubblegum with a touch of tart berries, borderline raspberry, with a touch of dry hop character and definite alcohol presence. Surprisingly dry, hoppy flavor (fresh, I guess) with a touch of sweet sugar and berries and a definite alcohol kick. I have to say Iím a little disappointed.

A very pleasant ale aroma that reminded me of a Belgian or English pale ale, in terms of the malting - sweet, a little vinegary. The label wasnít great, the beer itself is clear and woody red-brown. Woody tasting, not too bitter, not too sweet, west coast hopping. The alcohol is well masked. The aftertaste is woody, grassy and a little sour. This isnít a huge barleywine, but itís pretty well balanced. Liquor Loft, Tallahassee.
