5oz Taster - Fred Fest 2008 - Hair of the Dog Brewing - Portland OR
Aroma – Strong Barleywine aroma with good fruit background.
Appearance – Dark Amber in color, little to no head and clear.
Flavor – A huge strong beer with a great oak flavor from the barrel it aged in for years. Great fruit in the flavor also this was a well designed beer.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, good texture with a dry finish.
Overall – Rich in flavors this was a very well made beer loved the rich oak flavor. Wow it was awesome almost 10 years old and wow it had a punch.

Tap @ Toronado Barley Wine Festival. Dark reddish color with a light brown head. Candy, plums, raisins, alcohol, and sweet. A real delight. I shared a full 11oz glass of this one. This was brewed in 1998 and aged in a bourbon barrel.

On tap at the 2003 Toronado Barleywine Festival: Brewed in 1998 and aged five years including a year in a bourbon barrel. Wonderful bourbon aroma. Nice malt backing. Awesome balance. One of the best beers I've ever had. Phenomenal. I'd give this one an '11' for flavor if I could. (Note: This beer took 2nd place in the festival.)
