3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, USA - JAN 25, 2006
A very recommended beer from a quality brewery. I don’t think they craft anything that’s not tasty. From the bottle comes a very rich, copper looking liquid with a fairly normal head (not too thick, not too thin). An immediate citrus note in the aroma is profound along with some pepper notes. The taste is clean on the palate, nicely balanced yet somehow has a spice bite to it that is very pleasing. Not very sweet and entirely drinkable, these are usually the first to go. Grab some if you see it stocked, because you will not be disappointed.

Pours a light amber color and is crystal clear.Pours with a small head that is off white and dense. It seems to linger a while but has no lacing. The aroma is pretty bland with malts and grain hulls. Hops are very light. Taste is like the nose, some malts, grain hulls maybe a little toasted too in there. Hops have some flavor but I can’t quite put my finger on the taste.
A medium weight on the palette and not all that smooth. Finishes clean.
Although there is nothing really bad with this beer, there really isn’t anything good with it either.

Originally reviewed: 2/12/09. Pours a darker gold with a good 2-finger white head resting on top. Decent amount of bubbles rising up. Retention is ok; great lacing. Smells of sweet malt and honey-kissed breads. Some light floral tones present as well.
Decent enough flavoring, but I had to mark this point as the lower one due to the slight beef-stew like quality to it. Tastes meaty to me. I love meat, but it’s kind of weird in my beer. Otherwise it’s wonderfully balanced. Slight hop bite at the finish. Pair that with a nice crisp mouthfeel, and you got yourself a good drinker. Recommend.

Pours a clear light amber with a little bit of white head. Aroma is light floral hops, a bit of honeysuckle in there too. Taste is very crisp Initial light malt punch with a nice hop balance and finishes clean with some sweetness. Very nice, my favorite of the Full Sails so far.

Faint caramel aroma. Clear light orange color. Flavor is sweetbread and caramel, decent bitter contrast. Fine medium body that has an almost syrupy quality to it. Exactly what I expect from a domestic pale.

Full Sail Pale Ale has a thick, frothy, slightly off-white head and a clear, yellow-orange appearance, with a decent amount of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is of citrus (orange) and bready barley malt, but, overall, the smell is faint. Taste is of citrus, bread, some pine notes, and a good amount of pleasant hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Full Sail Pale Ale finishes easy-drinking and sort of wet. Drinkability is very high with this one. Overall, it’s a great beer. RJT

This pale ale poured a crystal clear amber colour with a bright white, creamy head. To the ose there are scents of pineapple, orange and lemon citrus hops, cooked veggies and maybe light cinnamon? First sip was smooth almost to watery with flavours of medium sweet malt and a light hop flavour, slightly citric. Finish is medium bitter with hopp bitterness lingering.
