Smell is fruits, really grapefruit, piney, and some grass. Golden to orange in color with a light white head. Taste is grassy, pine, with light to medium bitterness.

Dark orange bronze body with a large off white head. There is a nice scent of grapefruit that reminds me of what an IPA should smell like. It is floral with a character like orange marmalade. There is also some almond behind the citrus. The taste is lightly bitter with grapefruit and some almond shells. It gets a little annoying as there is little malt balance. A decent IPA that smells great, but the taste is more like an APA.

Bomber. Pours a slightly cloudy amber with a half finger creamy colored head that faded into a soap scum almost immediately. What’s left leaves spotty lacing. Nose is fairly light with some sweet citrus shining through. Taste is caramel malt upfront with sour grapefruit and resin cleaning up the sweetness. Resin aftertaste lasts quite awhile. Lighter mouth feel than I expected. Not great, but not bad.

[1692-20080906] Tap. Lemon and grass hops aroma. Clear, light amber orange body with a long creamy white head and some lacing. Bitter grains and lots of grainy lemon hops in the flavour. Bitter medium body is rough. Fairly simple with not a lot going on but drinkable.

[Bottle] Pours a coppery gold with a medium off white head. Aroma is not nearly as hoppy as I would like, and a touch of malt. Flavor is not terribly hoppy, thin, and has an odd, unbalanced bitterness. Overall a poor effort.

Pretty much the definition of an average IPA. Starts out pretty well, but the further in you get the less good it tastes. Still a steal at its former price of 2.49 per 22 oz bomber at the store down the road.

Tap @ Porter’s Pub @ UCSD. It’s a rating, but damn I’ve been dubious about Full Sail lately, haven’t had an exceptional full sail beer in so long, so maybe I’m a bit prejudiced. Pours orange with a 1 finger tan head, nice carbonation in the glass as well. Nose has some faint citrus hops. Taste is grassy piney with no major interesting notes.

pour a copper orange with thin white head. nice lacing. aroma is somewhat lacking but a bit citrus. flavor is just different for an ipa. some carmel noted and a citus bitterness, but maybe just don’t like the hops they use or they are old.
