Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours brilliant copper with a foamy 3 finger beige head. Aromas of roast malt and yeast/spice pepperiness. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Itís caramel with a lot of yeast/spice. Mildly pepper/hot. Bitter? More sweet than bitter. But the pepperiness seems to accumulate in the mouth. Itís really nice.

Tasted on tap at FreshCraft in Denver, Colorado. Amber appearance with a light head. Candy sugar in the head thatís just like an Abbey Dubbel should smell like. Sweet candy sugar with dark slightly burnt malts that makes it taste like brown sugar. Somewhat noticeable alcohol. Flavor is a bit more flat than most abbey funnels that I enjoy.

Sampled this while I was helping in the Atlas Bistro kitchen. Aka, being Josh and Keenans kitchen bitch. Brown pour. Dried fruits, malt, candi sugar aroma. Flavor is almost good. But itís a watery version of the aroma. Bummer.

Reddish hue with a small off-white head. A good yeasty aroma. Its the style, but nothing to write home about: bitter-sweet,a tad of toast. not too complex. Middling mouthfeel. kenís bottle.

22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA, opened 10/5/10. Pours a clear reddish amber with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, raisins and faint caramel. The taste is toffee, brown sugar, raisins, spice and a faintly hoppy finish. Thin-medium bodied. Decent beer.

22oz 2010 bottle thanks to LtDan. Pours with a mostly clear copper body with an off-white head that fades somewhat quickly. Aroma is somewhat bland. Graham crackers, raisin, vanilla, cherry, caramel, toasty, fruity, bready. Flavors of honey, biscuit, fruit, vanilla wafers, plum, cherry and maple. Not a typical Dubbel at all. Also getting some strawberries and sugar on the finish. Graham crackers/bready. Not bad, but not traditional nor particularly memorable. Medium bubbles, creamy.
