On tap at TCBF, pours dark reddish brown. Aroma of caramel malts, candied sugar and dried fruits. Flavour of dark, dry fruits and caramel malts. Pretty uninspiring, but still solid dubbel.

Sampled this while I was helping in the Atlas Bistro kitchen. Aka, being Josh and Keenans kitchen bitch. Brown pour. Dried fruits, malt, candi sugar aroma. Flavor is almost good. But it’s a watery version of the aroma. Bummer.

Tasted on tap at FreshCraft in Denver, Colorado. Amber appearance with a light head. Candy sugar in the head that’s just like an Abbey Dubbel should smell like. Sweet candy sugar with dark slightly burnt malts that makes it taste like brown sugar. Somewhat noticeable alcohol. Flavor is a bit more flat than most abbey funnels that I enjoy.

UPDATED: FEB 9, 2011 Thanks to Homerwantsbeer for sharing a bottle. Pours a reddish-orange color with a medium off-white head that that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bananas and spices. Medium body with a sweet fruity character that has malt and yeast notes. The finish is caramel malt and bananas. Decent overall.
