COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rich malt aromas fill the nose. Flavors of biscuit and roast are rounded by a rich sweet malt character. This Dubbel is lightly hopped and finishes with Belgian yeast spice notes and a chewy finish. Available in 22oz. bottles and draught. ABV 7% IBU 20

Bottle. Pours amber with an off white head. Light spicy yeasty aroma with some sweeter and toasty malty notes. The flavor is on the bland side, with some light banana-like fruity sweetness, spicy yeast, and toasted malts. Decent.

Bomber at the bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a small white head. The aroma is very sweet nutty candies. A very sweet malty Belgian-style brew, not yeasty, but nutty, caramel and sweet candies. Nice.

22. Pours a nearly clear rubied dark amber. Set to the side, it looks muddy brown. Up to the light, it looks like a glittering pendant from an Indiana Jones movie. Loose tan head falls quickly to a loose smear of film. Big bready nose, smells like brown bread that somebody knocked some sugar into without realizing it and baked it anyway. Creamy medium body. Very little carb, especially for a dubbel. Brown bread, caramel, brown sugar, and a little bit of a ginger snap effect on the mid palate. Mildly sugar and spicy finish. Clean and well made but nowhere near the power and complexity of a world classic, especially given the depth and intensity of the tools (e.g., yeast flavors) available to the brewer with these. But that’s the trick. Those yeasts aren’t always actually available. So you get this nice bready flowery business too often.

My bottle [660ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel. March 9. Pours a dark amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Quite a mild aroma of caramel malt, fruit and yeast Flavour of caramel malt, fruit, yeast and some sugary sweetness. Average to medium bodied. Just O.K., pretty mild for a Dubbel.

10/31/11. Boo. 22oz bomber. Dark brown pour, clear red pour with a small khaki head that cuts fast and laces a little. Fruity bubblegum aroma with apples, berries, and a bit of banana. Really sweet, fruity flavor that touches on berries, lemon peel, yeast, and roasted caramel. Meh.

March 9, 2012 - with blankboy, gregclow, jercraigs & mabel. Bomber (Brewmaster Reserve 2011) c/o blankboy. Slightly hazy deep amber with a smallish but lasting light tan frothy head (4-). Really mild aroma - floral, only light Belgian caramel spicy malt, mostly floral. Taste is nice - pungently sweaty, tons of yeasty caramel and fruit, some alcohol presence. Fairly thick, acceptable carbonation, finishes quickly with just an odd hint of sourness - would like a bit more spiciness.

bottle, orange golden color with a thin caramel and fruit aroma, flavor of grainy watery fruits, boring disappointing beer

The whole purpose of buying the boat in the first place was to get the ladies nice and tipsy top side, so we can take them to a nice comfortable place below deck, and you know, they can’t refuse...because of the implication..

Bottle. Poured thin and chestnut brown, what little carbonation and head there is almost immediately clearing out. The aroma leans towards the expected brown sugary essence of many a dubbel, but is actually pretty restrained. The flavor boasts more aggressively, asserting a kick of acohol and cooked caramel.
