Pretty tasty. It’s a no-frills lager that tosses in a few frills for good measure. Someone mentioned chocolate milk in a rating. Yeah, a little bit. Session beer? Definitely. Good cheap beer.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 joeneugs (1606) - Livermore, California, USA - JUN 1, 2012
Bottle. It pours a dark cola brown with a disappearing tan head. There are some glints of red coming through when held up to the light. The aroma is nicely roasted with some dry cocoa powder and toast. The flavor is balanced with dry toast and sweeter notes of cocoa. Some mild astringency in the middle and some brown sugar and cola near the finish. It has a medium body and good carbonation. Maybe a tad too sweet, but ultimately really tasty and drinkable.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 solidfunk (660) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 22, 2012
Smells a little of roast malt. Fizzy like most schwarzbiers, but head dies quickly. About as good as any of the style ive tried, i guess.

Med brown, clear, light tan head. Aroma: grainy malt with light caramel, baker’s chocolate and slight roast. Flavor: slight caramel sweetness with some nutty character, dries out to baker’s chocolate finish. Clean, easy drinking.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cybercat (1908) - Georgia, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Pours a deep coppery brown with a decent, if not persistent, pale tan head. Malty aroma has a caramel undertone and a hint of coffee. Firm flavor is mainly malty plus notes of caramel and coffee of typical quality, as well as just a hint of cloves. Body is about average, though there is a decent amount of fizz. Yes, a good sipping beer, to sample now and then whilst taking in a good book or hobnobbing at a party.

11 oz bottle from Trader’s Joe. Pours brown with a thick, long lasting beige head. Aroma is of bready malt and grassy hops. Body is medium, slightly crisp and creamy. Grassy hops, toasted, bready malt and brown sugar fill the mouth. Finish is long astringent with some saltiness. Not a bad brew but the finish spoils impression.

Pours a dark brown, small tan head that dissipates and no lacing. Smell is of toasted malts with some coffee. Tastes of the maltiness, but not as heavy as you would expect. A nice dark beer that drinks light.

Dark brown pour with a short-lived beige head. Aroma of roast and chocolate malt. Taste is basically the same, but thinner. Light bodied, easy drinking, but not much to get excited about.
