Session Fest is a Czech-style strong lager (gotta love the Czechs!) called polotmavé or literally "light dark or semi-dark." Brewed with 2 Row Pale malt, Munich malt, Caramel malt and Wheat malt, and hopped with a blend of Glaciers and Cascades, Session Fest has a medium-to-full body balancing candy caramel and full malt flavors that are underscored by a spicy hoppiness that provides a nice perfume with citrus and pine overtones and a long clean finish.

Dark orange/amber in color with medium to small head and minimal lacing. Aroma has nice spicy yeastiness but mostly amber, caramel malts, and a little fruitiness. Flavor has strong caramel malts and slight hoppiness, a little toasted bread, and a bit of citrus. Strong flavor, yet easy drinking and very delicious!

11 oz. bottle. It’s stubby and looks pretty cool. Aroma of rich, red malts, mild pine and citrus peel notes, some dark bread, some earthy notes. Flavor is mildly sweet with some earthy and floral bitter notes. Lots of bready sweetness. Full bodied, medium hoppiness, Finishes long, lingering, with nice bitterness. Overall, interesting, and nice.

Deep reddish brown pour with small white head. Deep toasted grain malt aroma. Almost some red fruitiness. This beer is all malt. Sweet toasted bread. furnishes dry with out any yeast character. Nice body not not too thin with a good coating of the taste buds. Solid stuff and quite drinkable.

Bottle shared by Drake at RBWG on Friday night at the roach motel bottle share. Thanks, Drake, for the Polotmavy! My only missing beer style until this moment. Pours a clear deep gold color with a small off-white head that settles into a ring. Lots of malts - caramel, Munich, wheat - with straw, spiced table crackers, and cardboard. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a malty mouthfeel. Not bad. Glad I got to try the style finally.

12 ounce bottle
Thanks to Santa for the stubby bottle. I once again have all styles until there is another split and then I guess it will be time to chase down yet another elusive tick. This would have been nice even if it were not motivated by catching them all. A typical Full Sail beer is full of flavor without being so heavy that it wears down the palate after a single bottle.

Aroma / Appearance - A semitransparent ruby base bubbles below a strong ivory head that takes time to settle down. Melted caramel, waxy chocolate, cherry licorice, and nutty malts are a snack of Twizzlers and Twix.

Flavor / Palate - Spicy caramel perks up the tongue. A collection of anise and chocolate chips carry into a filling full bodied finish. Easy drinking for 6% ABV this release is something that I hope more breweries will experiment with. If I ever were to visit the Czech Republic trying more of these fresh would be at the top of my list.

Bottle in Phoenix around new years. I really don’t understand the category and it took me a bit to find the listing but the beer was fine. Nice filling malty body. Good.

c/o Beer Delivery from WillRunForBeer Aroma - was light, some spicy hop, but mostly a caramel malt. Appearance - really blah, the body is a caramel amber, clear liquid, the head setup was really minimal. Then the little bit of head there was just utterly died. No ring, nothing at all. It quickly came to look like iced tea. Taste - is a balance between caramel malt flavors and a somewhat spiced hop. Palate - body is light, the texture thin, the carbonation on the palate is soft, the finish is somewhat spiced hop. Can’t say I knew anything about this brewery before hand. It is a rare style, and I’m glad I got to try it, but it’s just really forgettable. I will say based on everything, but appearance, it’s a tasty session - that’s as kind as I can be. One other issue I had with this is the frustrating sort of electric tape kind of plastic on the bottle. It also had it’s cap rivets so closely tucked into to the taper of the bottle, that it was difficult to get a grip. I’m not going to look favorably on picking up anything from this company in the future.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of bread and grain notes with not much of a hop profile. Flavor is similar with bread and grain throughout with a crisp finish.
