4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Poured a burnt straw color, almost reddish coppery, with a healthy two-finger head. Hoppy citrus nose, similar to grapefruit. Sweeter than I would like, with incredible "springy and light" flavor. Spry, maybe? Regardless, I donít think this is a true Imperial IPA, but its really good. Recommended, and available for trade.

Has a great aroma, pineapple, citrus and pine needles. Good copper color to it. Nice double IPA flavor, but not quite as bold as I like.

Wow, this was a full bodied brew that doesnít lead you to belive itís a strong IPA. Huge malts are balanced with grapefruity/oily hops. Very little aroma, but good paate and bitter but clean finish.

NOTE: the bottle I am rating is a cellared 2009 vintage of this beer, so adjust for aging accordingly!
Flavor has concentrated considerably with age. I drank another bottle of this when it was fresh, and I recall it being super in-your-face resiny & bitter, almost undrinkably so. Iím a hops fiend and I could barely finish it.
Woody dry finish, thick caramelly, almost bourbony malt profile. Tastes more like a 9% barleywine than a IIPA. Definitely worth cellaring vs drinking fresh.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bomber. Hops everywhere. Citrus blast. Chewy grapefruit flavors, with dry, long, bitter aftertaste. Powerful beer, but that is the style. Maybe just too much hop bitterness, and not complex enough for me.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sturdy malts and a forceful grapefruit bitterness hold this beer up pretty well. I respect the character, but for the money you could get a bomber of something with wider and more expansive flavor.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a light orange/gold in color. Thin and short head. Light hops/biscuit in aroma. Bland on the palate but a good finish with lots of flavor. Another IPA.

2008 version. I bought a few bottles and will cellar all but this one. Tonís of grapefruit and citrus. Spicy finish. Could have used a little more malt backbone IMO, but it will mellow nicely with age. A great buy on a great beer at under 3 buck a bottle

It poured a bit lighter than most Imperial IPAs. The smell wasnít memorable or unique by any sorts: just smelt like hops; nothing wrong with that though! It tasted similar to how it smelt: it had a significant hop taste; the hops tasted bitter but didnít really have a grassy or herbal taste to them but it did have a earthy citrus taste. There was very little presence of malts making the beer very light and smooth: it is easy to drink. It is a good summer imperial IPA. It also is different than most imperial IPAs, which is a plus
