From the bottle.

Pours a dark amber with a nice white head. The aroma is quite nice, a full and rich citrus hops, lots of grapefruit, plenty of cookie malt. The mouthfeel is very good as well, appropriately full for an IPA without being too sticky. The flavor, by contrast, is a slight letdown after the nice aroma. The citrus fruit almost immediately yields to a blast of bitter and astringent hops with little else by way of complexity.

Bottle. Pours a golden amber color. A huge aroma of piney and citrusy hops comes off this beer like you wouldn’t believe. The initial taste is a spicy, citrusy hop bite, then things mellow down a bit to just a tongue numbing hoppiness. Were is the malt? I ask. Hmmmm.... Would be a terrific IPA if it had a stronger malt backbone. Hoppy for hoppy sake can be a not so good thing.

Heaps of hops help me here to wash away the poorly celared Fullar’s vintage that had been a lesson in cardboard licking. Bold and assertive, but perhaps slightly askew in whatever point it has to assert as though I did like it, I wasn’t fully enamored nor wishing like hell I had many more bottles. I do have one more which will allow me to see if perhaps the cardboard coating my tongue had taken was a bad influence. I rather suspect not as 22 oz. is a fair sample.

Deep amber color with a frothy white head. Aroma holds notes of grapefruit/hops, caramel, yeast, and a little pine. Medium body with good carbonation and pleasant feel in the mouth. The flavor was crisp, clean, and refreshing. Citrusy, moderate sweetness.

Beautiful dark copper with a thick, rocky off-white head. Surprisingly, the aroma isn’t that good; fruity and musty - doesn’t have that fresh, floral piney PNW aroma. Flavor has notes of grapefruit rind, citrus, orange, caramel and toasted malt. Moderately sweet, lingering bitter finish. In the end, all I taste is bitter grapefruit rind and caramel. The body is full, round and creamy with moderate carbonation. I really wanted to like this but it just didn’t taste that good. IMHO, could use better aroma/flavor hops and more sweetness. On the plus side, beautiful appearance and mouthfeel.

I tried this beer on tap not knowing that it was made by full sail co. Pretty decent beer. I always love a big west coast IPA and that’s exactly what this brew was. One minor point i didn’t care for was a big of a dirty flavor in the finish. Something about it was just a bit gritty. Very minor characteristic that only slightly detracted from the brew. I’m just nitpicking.
