BuckeyeBoy (1639), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 7, 2006 Bottle 22oz Pours out a nice amber topped with a off white head. A very nice aroma of hops. The tast is a bit bitter and not what I was thinking it was going to be. MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA Oct 2, 2006 dark golden pour nice tan well laced head. Well hopped aroma hints of simcoe and warrior hop w/ a big sweet malt. Palate is avg. Flavor is tropical fruits dry piney resins & a bitter dry finish. Nice. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA Sep 19, 2006 22 oz bottle from Liq Solutions. Pours a clear dark copper color with a large fluffy head. Nice aroma of orange, pine, lemon and butterscotch. Thin bodied. Starts with some sweet caramel malt flavor, then some orange and finishes with a piney bitter grapefruit rind in the finish and the aftertaste. This one is puckeringly bitter with a slight acidic burn in the aftertaste. Unbalanced even for a West Coast IPA. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Sep 15, 2006 22 oz. bottle, from Liquid Solutions! Pours a ruddy amber and hazy with a small white head. Surprisingly mild aroma, gently hoppy with light citrus, toasty malts and slight ashy characteristics. Flavor is a little (dang, don’t you hate when you can’t read your own notes? I think it says something like...) ictory actually, a bit of caramel as it warms, ncie hoppy character, lots of citrus and a little pine. Medium body and creamy carbonation. BeerPrince (1701), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Sep 4, 2006 Auburn amber body colour with a medium sized foamy white head. Some citrus and floral hop flavours, but mainly dominated by a bitter pine note, which extends into the finish. Mouthfeel is medium, nicely astringent. IndianaRed (1553), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 1, 2006 Bottle pours a rather murky orangeins brown. nice full creamy light tan head. Great up front citrusy hop aroma and sweet malts. Flavor is quite sharp and biting citrusy bitterness. Quick malty aftertaste..then right back to strong, a bit harsh bitter. Further sips are more and more big time hops. Medium body and softly carb’d. Very long lasting bitter trailer. Not for the faint of heart, quite strong IPA. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA Aug 30, 2006 piney/citrusy aroma - I though I liked extra hoppy beers (and I do) but I think that there needs to be some kind of balance and this one doesn’t have it - too damn bitter and no discernable malt to balance it. Next time why don’t they just steep some hops in vodka and dilute it with water? bhensonb (4182), Woodland, California, USA Aug 28, 2006 Aroma of light pine complemented by citrus. Hazy dark apricot color, but little head. Light lacing though. The taste starts with hops. Much more grapefruit than pine. The malt is hiding in the corners. Double IPA hops without the alcohol. The finish is hops.
