Strong golden colored ale with a great head. This was a toe curling hopped beer with a great malt undertones. The hops where heavy and this is an IPA for the IPA gods. Great beer.
kyzr (1120), Belgrade, Montana, USA Jun 1, 2006 Copper color with failry large head. Nose of the grassy hops. Flavor much the same, big citrus up front with a malty toast body. Finish is light on the hops. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA May 31, 2006 I would have only had the sample if I could, but it was really hard to make it through an entire pint. Way too malty for what I desire in an IPA, piney hops, overcarbonated and unbalanced. presario (2955), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 28, 2006 Darker than the regular IPA. Same thin head. No noticeable alcohol. Maltier body and nice hop level. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 10, 2006 2005: Pour is deep warm coppery red with a thin tan head...piney soapy hoppy nose...taste is a tad bit biscuity and caramel at first, turning nice and strongly bitter...nice grapefruit coming out in the finish...good... Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Apr 22, 2006 05’ bottle courtesy of wohlfs. Dark copper orange with decent off white head. Aroma has a really harsh bitterness to it, almost somewhat oxidized. Mostly pine and faint citrus, without much malt backbone. Flavor starts off with a nice combination of, citrus, caramel and pine, but again turns very harsh and soap like. Seems to be straightforward hops and nothing else. Just o.k. overall.
