3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass. Black as night. Only the smallest tan head formed.
Smell: There is a lot going on in here: toffee, coffee, brown sugar and rich malt. Overall a rich scent that can get too much for me, but still impressive.
Taste: Sweet malt, toffee and alcohol, . Long lasting aftertaste of alcohol. Unfortunately the alcohol dominates the taste.
Heavy body, almost syrupy and silky smooth. Low carbonation. For awhile after, my mouth had that hot alcohol feel in it.
Share it with friends. 22 oz is a lot in one sitting. This is perfect for sipping over a couple hours in front of the fireplace on a cold day. I could go without the heavy aftertaste, but that seems to be par for this style.

2010 batc. Small head, no lace. Strong whiskey, slight porter aroma. Flavor’s like nose. I can’t imagine how this was fresh. Not easy drinking at all.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2010 bomber. I think Stefan left it here. At home on a Sat while waiting for Taylor to get ready so we can go out to a concert in Dallas. Pours flat black. Around is weak toasted charred malt and dark grains. mouthfeel is silky coating the palate with a delicious dark bourbon coco. I like a lot, it has some complex tasty notes. slight oxidation on the back end, but very minimal. Delicious.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle [no doubt from trade but I completely forgot from whom I got this, thanks though!] @ home. Opaque pitch black color, medium sized light brown colored head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, quite strongly bourbon, some vanilla, lightly roasted malts. Taste malts, lightly roasted malts, bourbon, vanilla, oak/wood lightly, lightly metallic, moderately bitter initially, nice firm bitterness in the finish. Texture-wise a bit thinner than I had expected and hoped, body is decent, carbonation is average to medium. Hmm decent beer, but not as good as I had hoped it would be.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tastes of prunes and a sundry other dried fruits. Also chocolate and coffee. Good beer. Can’t figure out why it’s a porter instead of a stout.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from a bomber into a beer can glass on 09.07.14.
A: Chocolate pie, vanilla, and dark fruit. It smells very well balanced.
A: 1/2 finger brown fizzy head which quickly recedes. Midnight black body with no red.
T: Chocolate pie, vanilla, and dark fruit dominate. Oak is subtle.
P: Creamy. A bit bubbly but it feels nice on the tongue.
O: Full Sail does an excellent job with balance. This one continues the trend. Chocolate hits first, then vanilla, with dark fruit on the back end. The alcohol is completely hidden. Granted, the ABV is only 9.5% but I expected to feel it more than I did in the mouth.
