Bottle. The pour was a very dark brown, almost black with a large (2-3 finger) dark beige rocky head that lasted a good amount of time, leaving behind a large frothy collar and a bit of puddling creating some excellent sticky lacing. The aroma was screaming of milk chocolate along with a strong dark roasted malt and a sweet doughy yeast and had notes of roasted coffee, molasses, and a bit of vanilla. The taste was bitter sweet and quite malty with notes of molasses and a good bit of coffee early on. Then it became a slight bitterer and really smooth and creamy with notes of milk chocolate and a very distinct vanilla presence at the end. The flavor lasted a decent duration with a nice mocha coffee flavor left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was just a bit under full in body with a smooth creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Overall an exceptional Imperial Porter that is so well put together you can hardly notice the high alcohol content. Shame this brew is now retired...

Big bold brown pour, lighter brown head. Toasted malt, cocoa powder, prunes, molasses, slightly bitter.

Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and liquorice. Semi sweet, but rounds out well balanced. Has a very light sour touch as well, maybe due to the high levels of roasted malts. Full bodied with medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber, cellared for about a year and a half. Rich bourbon aroma with notes of chocolate and dark fruit. Pours pitch black colored with a thin brown head and no lacing. Chocolate malt with sweet dark fruit notes. Finishes with nice bourbon notes but with a bit of alcohol burn mixed into the nice finish. Good porter, but could have aged longer to get further reduce the alcohol, but still very good.

Bottle. Pours a pitch black body with a creamy beige head. Nose is bourbon, caramel cream, peanut, soy, dark malts, coffee and hints of toffee and wood. Taste is creamy caramel and tiramisu, wood, bourbon, peanuts, coffee, dark chocolate and hints of toffee, biscuits and dark malts. Thick, velvety mouthfeel, soft carbonation. A solid, thick and sweet BA imperial porter, very nice indeed.

Tan head dissipated quickly, aroma malt, oak, bourbon. Beer is opaque black. Taste is cherries and oak and bourbon and honey, with a thread of bright lemon that lingers, then coffee at the finish. Palate is thick and viscous, bubbles very fine, actually maybe slightly over carbonated. This might be my new favorite.

A robust porter that has much roast, some burnt parts. OK drinkability. Not the best IP I have had. Dark brown colour.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a medium beige head. The aroma is sweet ripe fruity, chocolate, sweet molasses, some roasted malt and toasted caramel. The flavour is roasted and chocolate like with some licorice and ripe fruit. Not very porter like. More like a very dark belgian stout. Very nice though.
