Pours a deep copper to brown with minimal tan head. Nice nutty aroma up front. Chocolate and pecan flavors from the malts with some grapefruit, pine, and moderate bitterness on the back that lingers on your palate. Good but not great.

Not what I expected from this brew at all. Poured dark chocolate brown with a nice tan head. Had a definate bite to it, but not a hoppy bitterness bite like I expected. Has a full body, very complex, a nice brew.

Dark amber color with red highlights. Thin lacy head. Maltiness is subtle in the beginning and lingers in the end. Could use more hops!

Pours a dark chocolate brown. Head quickly becomes a thin film though the lacing remains steadfast. Nose is spruce and biscuity chocolate. Flavor is bitter coffee and chocolate malts with a piney aftertaste. Inviting mouthfeel and a lingering cocoa aftertaste. Dont get as much from this as I would like.

Bottle. Dark brown color, light brown head with nice doily lacing. Aroma of chocolate, spice, grass, light tangerine. Juicy citrus hop up front that quickly goes to milky malt, pretty thick mouthfeel with a tangy long finish. Was not initially impressed but it improves with some thought and attention.

12oz bottle. very dark, tobacco black color with little head.. malty aroma with hints of nuts and earth tones.. initial hit is very winter and nicely balanced.. roasted malty flavoring leads to a hoppy spiced fruity finish. with little loose air.. some toffee flavors can be justified in the aftertaste.. okay brew, nothing great but a very typical concocted winter ale- with a cornicopia of hops.

Pours from 12 oz bottle a dark brown with offwhite head. Fragrance is malt, and spices. Taste is very slightly sweet with hints of cinnamon and fruit. Echos a citrusy bitter orange and caramel. A very enjoyable winter ale.

At the brewery... An easy drinking winter beer, with good spices, some hops and a lite body, but a nice head.
