2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a dark ruby color into the glass, with a smallish off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malt and hops. Taste is a mix of hoppy earthiness and bitterness, with light sugar and malt. The first time I heard the term "Wassail," it was referring to hot spiced apple cider mixed with spiced rum.
12 oz. beer.

Small head.Nice ruby-brown color.Aroma was not much,but I have a cold,so I really canít say too much about it.The taste was a nice toasty,somewhat bitter,caramel without the sweetness.KInda sticky palate,which I find desirable.Finishes with a nice bitter hops,but could be a tad more hoppy for me.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Ohanaís in Seattle, Washington. Dark amber in color. I was immediately surprised by the effervescent head, very unusual. Aroma was dominated by a robust malt, which gave way to a similarly robust molasses flavor, with an almost earthy nutty flavor to it. Iíd definitely go back to this one again.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of my favorite winter beers. The easiest drinking of them all and one I wish i could have year round. Deep amber color with white head. Primary taste is a toasty burnt malt flavor and spicy hops blend together into a great bitterness. As bitter as an IPA but not just from the hops and a good malt backbone. I love it.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Huge caramel raisin aroma and flavor, strong mineral depth with a bright malty finish. A really nice representation of an english strong ale!!

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark reddish-brown with a tightly knit tan head. Understated aromas, brown sugar and nutmeg. This beer is smooth and malty with holiday spice flavors and a little hop note in the finish. Complex and tasty, but lacking a bit in aroma and, for a Stong Ale, strength.

Nice thick body, very creamy in the mouth. the flavor is very subdued and friendly. the alcohol is warming in the end and as i exhale. a few spices are evident but there is nice hop flavor and bitterness in the end.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
I didnít think much of the ale at beerfest last week in Orlando. It was labeled a winter beer on the table. Not as good as their lager

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Root beer color with a thin off-white head that fades to a ring. Aromas of roasted malts, pine, and citrus. Flavors of bitter chocolate and orange peel that starts out sweet and finishes acidic and dry for a beer of this type. Canít shake the hops. Fairly thin mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Hides alcohol well. Good, but not enough malt flavors for me in a winter seasonal, or for an old ale any time of year.
