Clear brown/amber with quickly disappearing head. Surprisingly robust aroma with both malt and hops present. Starts crisp and hoppy then moves to roasted malt. Balanced finish. A pretty good winter ale.

I really like this beer. It has been taking the number one spot in my seasonal rotation this year. Pours a dark mahogany with a one inch tan head. Nice well carbonated mouthfeel. Good balance of malt and hops with a nice spicy hop finish. I feel this represents the style well. Very drinkable...will be picking this one up as long as it lasts.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2014 Nose is subtle so the toasty, nutty flavor surprises to the upside. Not overly complex. What there is the toastiness on a malt and subtle hops base in a pleasingly balanced offering. Assertive without being excessive. The only thing I donít like is the high ABV.

Wassail is dark amber and is decievingly dark for how hoppy it is compared to the malt factor. The hop flavor is characteristic of the Full Sail Pale Ale. This beer has the holiday taste of course, but it is like a strong/olde ale mixed with an American Pale Ale.

It has a malty palate, but spicy flavor in with the hops help to balance this beer perfectly. It is an excellent winter brew.

Pours reddish brown and has a brown head. Smells fruity like prunes, full bodied, tastes malty with a little bit of spice and has a slight bitter finish. Overall a good beer.

Looks dark mahogany in color however when held up to light actually a deep red color. Lacey thin white head. A bit of spice in the aroma. Smooth upfront with a dry slightly hopped finish. Nothing too exciting going on, not much jumping out and no distinct flavors coming through. Overall a drinkable beer that would be good for someone whoís not into super heavy, spicy or otherwise big winter beers but still wants something fitting for the cold weather.

Very dark ruby with a one finger tan head. Aroma is a strange combination of citrus and sprucey hops with dark chocolate and vanilla. Dark malt flavor with a hoppy finish and after taste. Moderately heavy and creamy.
