Brewed for the holiday season, Wassail is a delight with itís warm flavors and festive holiday packaging. Itís a lush, garnet colored winter ale that has a malty full-body and a pleasant hoppy finish. Sure to warm the hearts of malt and hop lovers alike, Wassail is brewed with a 4 types of malts and is hopped with a special blend of imported hops.

Deep red to brown color. Small white head. Aroma reminded me of my grandmother's cabbage rolls. Flavor started out strongly as grapefruit. That (surprisingly) faded very quickly. Mellowed out incredibly in the middle to a malty sweetnes and finished with only a slight bit of hop flavor. Very unique.

I tried this one a year ago and was stoked to see it onthe shelf again this season. This was one of my favorite winter ales. Iím sure itís due to the shit load of cascade hops but thereís more...Aroma is slight but has a classic NW India Pale. The color give a hint to the malt character that hides within... deep mahogony. The carbonation on the toungue brings out a ton of the aroma-flavor that seems hidden early on..Big hops. The finish is a little tart and bitter...I would expect more sweetness from a winter. BUT>>>as a hop head this has to be my favorite seasonal so far. A ton of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma should keep you on the look out for this one all season.

12 oz bottle. Beer pours mahogany with a nice head. Spicy, medium body, and very balanced. Drinkable holiday brew but tastier can be found...

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2014 Nose is subtle so the toasty, nutty flavor surprises to the upside. Not overly complex. What there is the toastiness on a malt and subtle hops base in a pleasingly balanced offering. Assertive without being excessive. The only thing I donít like is the high ABV.

Clear brown/amber with quickly disappearing head. Surprisingly robust aroma with both malt and hops present. Starts crisp and hoppy then moves to roasted malt. Balanced finish. A pretty good winter ale.

I really like this beer. It has been taking the number one spot in my seasonal rotation this year. Pours a dark mahogany with a one inch tan head. Nice well carbonated mouthfeel. Good balance of malt and hops with a nice spicy hop finish. I feel this represents the style well. Very drinkable...will be picking this one up as long as it lasts.

Wassail is dark amber and is decievingly dark for how hoppy it is compared to the malt factor. The hop flavor is characteristic of the Full Sail Pale Ale. This beer has the holiday taste of course, but it is like a strong/olde ale mixed with an American Pale Ale.

It has a malty palate, but spicy flavor in with the hops help to balance this beer perfectly. It is an excellent winter brew.
