12 oz bottle Nose is caramel , cereal, and sllight coffee. Nice appearence, dark brownish amber with a creamy head. It has a medium sweetness along with a medium bitterness. I has meduim body, creamy texture, and a bitter finish. Nice lacing that has staying power. Itís sweet, bitter, and spicy all at the same time. A good balance.

December 23, 2009 Full Sail Wassail 12 oz bottle Poors a dark brown, like strong iced tea with little to no head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Smells herbyóof a lavender bush. Minor carbonation bubbles. Pleasing bitter aftertaste of coffee and bitter hops that creeps from the back of the tongue to the front, ending in a sour note. Taste of molasses, and brown sugar without the sugar. This beer is in the semi-regular rotation. We like it.

Picked this up in a sixer for like $4, liqour store was blowing out the winters, there loss, my gain. This is a very well balanced winter brew, unlike most winter beers that go over the top on direction or the other. Big hops, but rounded out with sweet malts on the finish to the end. Very good beer, and aged well as well. Good score on my part.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 12/11/10

Aroma: The nose has caramel, nuts, dark roasted malts, fruits, spice, and a little earthy hops
Appearance: It pours a dark mahogany color with a small beige head and some light lace
Flavor: Smooth and malty, some sweetness, roasty, touch of spice, earthy hops for balance
Palate: Quite smooth and drinkable with a warming (but boozy) mouthfeel, and a medium-full body
Overall Impression: This was a pretty impressive winter seasonal beer. You really canít help but like it, it just feels like it was made for this season. Itís certainly more on the sweet side then the bitter, but it has a touch of bitterness for that much needed balance. Overall, this is a very solid beer indeed.

Bottle. Pours a medium/dark brown with medium tan head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is of roasted malts. Flavor is nutty, roasty, with a bit of caramel sweetness up front, and bitterness in the finish. Pretty good for a cold winter night.

Pours dark mahogany with a small tan head that fades quickly. Excellent malt aroma with a nice sharp taste on the first sip. Just enough hops to balance the malt without over doing it. Long spicy finish.

Half finger of tan head. A nice ruby colored body. Smell is bread and grain, rich overall. Taste is hardy. Lots of malt here with balanced bitterness to keep the sweetness at bay. Little eating a loaf of bread. Thicker body, low carbonation and a stickiness to it. A hefty beer. Perfect for the cold weather.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle dark blackish red pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, roast malts, some slight biscuit, bread, dark fruits, caramelized sugars, nice spice with clove, slight cinnamon as well, slight earthy and spicy hops as well. Taste is spicy up front with cinnamon, clove, some cherry juice and dark raisin go into dark toffee, caramelizes sugars, dark fruits with a hint of earth, finishing fairly bitter and dry. Pretty nice, like the way this was crafted.

Huge caramel raisin aroma and flavor, strong mineral depth with a bright malty finish. A really nice representation of an english strong ale!!
