12 oz. bottle- Pours dark brown with a thin head, aroma is sugary malts with a hint of hops. The flavor is dominantly malt as well, although it is June, the expiration date is way back in March, I am sure the hops were more prominent in date, not a bad brew, and Iím not sure how accurate my review is, i will try to have another next winter.

12oz. Bottle: Fain aroma of malt. Poured deep amber/mahogany/brown in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. A few small particles present. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malt, light nuts, Earth, and a hint of caramel. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Malt, slight nut, light Earth, and hit of caramel finish is lightly dry. Not bad, just boring.

Warm and malty. Robust and roasted flavors. Has a subtle hoppy taste with hints of dried fruits. Has a nice dark color and a very faint off white foam head. Lots of bubbles. Not too bad.

Some corner store six-pack ($11): Pours a transparent brown color with a beige head. Aroma is malty with a good amount of hops. In fact, the hops were a surprise in this beer, as I expected it to be far more malty. If anything, the hops might have balanced it to far in that direction. Alcohol was not perfectly covered either, especially with the spicy Jamaican food that I was eating with this beer. I guess it was the wrong food combination for this beer, but nevertheless the flaws of the beer became apparent with the pairing.

brown with dusty brown head that fades to smooth, oily surface. Aroma of clean caramel, grassy, dusty yeast, hint of berry. Light-to-medium body (a flaw for the style, I want it a bit heavier!) old bitter leaf and light caramel flavor... ok on this end.

Bottle at a winter beer tasting in Tel Aviv. Dark brown and almost opaque. Cranberry, bruit and malt nose, bitter, a little medicinal mouth, feels smooth and sticky, long finish, full body.

Nice color, deep, deep red-brown. The head is average size and dry and sandy looking. The aroma is warm malt and is a bit spicy. The flavor is less malty than I would have thought with the appearance. A bit sour in the finish. Coriander? The mouthfeel is a bit fuzzy.

A decent brew that had too much of a sour aftertaste. But it is a good balance of hops and malts.

Aromas of malt, fruit (perhaps some cherry notes), and a subdued spice character as well. A brown ale with a thin tan head, that shows deep clear amber hues when held up to the light. Nice, pretty well balanced, though perhaps a tad thin. Lightly sweet in the front, with a bit of bitterness and spiciness in the finish. It is like a little brother to Deschutes Jubelale. Some definite cherry notes here. Really does remind me of a weaker version of the Jubelale. If I had not had that, I would think a bit more highly of this. Still this is pretty good.

looks like unfinished walnut lumber, itís a bit dull. pretty thin head Alcohol is not all that well disguised... Thereís not enough malt to mask the alcohol, and this isnít high in alcohol. Very thin brew. Hop spice is all over; pine blah blah blah... Not as warm as it is hot. Winter warmer my butt. Just another over-hopped interpretation.
