nice malt in the nose, but an astringent taste turned me off

nice amber pour with a bubbled thin grey head. aroma is brisket, with a lot of salt. sour taste is not good. also a salty egg flavor. no bueno. some mesquite in the finish which is good in a steak, but bad in a beer. ugh.

12 oz bottle, BBD 041106 from Blue Max in Burnsville, MN. Dark translucent brown with a lasting thick off-white fluffy head, touch of fine lacing...nose of sweet spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, earthy malts, and an unfortunately large dollop of plastic...body somewhat on the thin side, roasty, moderately sweet, with caramel maltiness and large hops towards the finish....seems fairly dry and "flat" in the flavor department to me. Big disappointment.

Deep clear maroon pour with a beige head. Slightly skunky malt smell to it, with a taste of some dark toasty tart malt. Unusual flavor for sure. Not particularly good, but also not bad. Drinkable, and gets a bit better as it warms to me. Light char and burnt notes, and despite my low rating, this is worth a try for its uniqueness.

Deep, muddy brown, almost opaque pour with red highlights, foam comes then goes. Scent is mildly citric, flavor is peppery w/a touch of caraway, with lots of sour notes. The hopping is heavy, the main flavor being that of old wood. Not my cup of beer.

Gorgeous rose color. Aroma is of strong hops. Taste reflects this, strong hops line this brew. Strong finish.

12oz bottle, unknown date. Pours thin dark brown with a one finger light beige head. Leaves some sheets and spots of lacing and holds only a wispy cap and ring. Aroma and flavor are kind of hard to pick up on, some sort of odd astringent maltiness, some sweetness and spice on the tongue. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. An odd brew.

Something about this beer rubbed me the wrong way. Weird spiciness paired with the dry flavor and an odd aftertaste of more spices. Not my thing.

Have come to expect lower and lower level of beers from Full Sail, but for $1.00 I keep trying them. This is better than (their) average. As always, under-fermented and really sweat. Some interesting things happen though as the malt gets worked through. Hops are solid but nothing special. I hate bashing the "47 employee owners" of this fine establishment, but this is yet another half-ass attempt.

Poured clear, thin dark brown with a scant, off-white head that only provided a bit of lacing. The aroma was malt, sugar, light spice and alcohol. The flavor was mild spice, lightly roasted malt and boozy alcohol heat. The mouthfeel was thin and watery. It tasted like alcohol flavored water. Not impressed.
