Aroma is hoppy with some pineapple, honey and subtle vanilla. Nice IPA with some malt. Pretty laid back...very drinkable. Would buy this one again when it comes out next year. ultracake (35), salem, Oregon, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2009 On tap at the Falling Rock as part of their Christmas selection. Nice orange color with a two inch foamy head. Smell is instant hops and nothing but hops. The taste was very hoppy with some spiciness at the back. This is a good beer but I prefer it from the bottle.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 5, 2009 On tap at the Swiss in Tacoma. Yes, it’s a hoppy winter-style IPA. Very similar to Sierra Nevada Celebration, which is also not quite to my liking. TaydaTot (18), Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 30, 2009 22 oz bomber. Lots of sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Pours a hazy, rosy red-orange. Lots of big bubbles and a solid head that settles into some chunky lace. Fairly heavy hop aroma but not particularly piercing. Smells a bit like honey and stale chocolate which I was not expecting. For an IPA there is some pretty rich malt flavors, graham cracker like. The idea of IPAs as winter seasonals usually doesn’t make sense to me (I’m from Minnesota) but because of the rich malt characteristics I thought this was a good representation of a winter IPA seasonal.
