thepilferer (23), walnut creek, California, USA Nov 24, 2007 Nothing special here, but definitely still quite drinkable. Nice copper color with very minimal head. Smells piney with a bit of citrus. Taste is similar. Not very complex. Medium thickness with the perfect amount of carbonation. Probably won’t purchase again. beisen (90), California, USA Nov 23, 2007 Decent when cold. Relatively smooth with good hops, but it has a serious bite, and it got punky as it warmed. Average. stefanje (937), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Nov 20, 2007 Updated: Jun 2, 2008650 ml bottle from South Bay Drugs. This is the winter 2007 batch. Pours a rich translucent copper color with an ample off-white head that slowly fades to 1/4 inch leaving some lacing. The aroma is strong with citrus, pine oil and hops. The flavor is reminiscent of a good pale ale; there is grapefruit, green apple, pears, oranges and lots of biter hops. Mouthfeel is thin up front but fills out to a full and creamy conclusion. The Finish is long and dry with nuts, caramel, and more biter hops. Overall: This is a first rate IPA. Recommended. Taverner (827), San Ramon, California, USA Nov 18, 2007 22 oz - clear and amber. Serious afterbite with this and all Christmas IPAs. SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Nov 16, 2007 22 oz. bottle - clear and amber; no head; mild hop and slight spice aromas; clean hop flavors and bitter finish; decent, but a little too watery for my taste scrizzz (1252), kirkland, Washington, USA Nov 15, 2007 poured soft brown with a hint of orange and a small pale tan head. fairly strong consistent carbonation. fresh oily hop aroma, nothing spiced or malty here. bitterness coats the tongue gently, finishes quickly Dhrjericho (66), Boise, Idaho, USA Nov 12, 2007 Bottle 2007 - dark amber pour with a very intense hoppy flavor. Not real fruity or malty. Sharp hops. Nice and intense. boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 10, 2007 Bottle... Poured a deep amber with a nice looking head. Powerful hop aroma with a dab of barley and malt. I like how the description says, "aggressive yet sublime." That’s exactly why I love good IPAs and this brew is a great poster child for the style. Flavors of caramel, nut, pine, subtle malt and great hop punch.
