HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA Jun 8, 2004 Pours a clear dark orange color. Nice bread/malt and piney/hop nose. Nice malty body with a good hop background and dry finish. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Jun 8, 2004 Bottle. Was a little dissapointed. Spicy christmas pudding, raisiny, sort of flavour, plus a load of hops at the end, sweet and christmasy, perhaps a little too sweet and sticky. whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 5, 2004 Cherry color and off-white head. Nice lace. Spicy hops married to a cinnamon and berry aroma. Has elements of an English Strong Ale. Flavor is acidic, fruity, and mildly woody. Makes me think of mistletoe berries so I guess it’s festive. May be a little peaked. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA Jun 5, 2004 Not sure if this tasted like this originally or not but I liked it anyway. Poured a dark amber with a medium off white head. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Mild hops and lightly spicy with cinnamon. The flavor did throw me off as this seems like a Christmas type ale. Moderate hops and sourness in the finish. A good beer. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA Jun 5, 2004 Updated: Jan 6, 2005reRate-tap at falling rock taphouse-pours an orange hue with fluffy white head. big citrus hop aroma. the bottle i had must have been old. tangerine, pineapple and green apples in the flavors.
22 oz bomber-thanks again to mromero548 for brining this one down from Denver. Pours a deep crimson red almost cherry appearance. aroma of toasty malts and piney hops-pretty complex aroma-some spices. The flavors were spicy and sour to me. I dont know if this was infected or what, but the flavors were just off to me. iwantalambic (1385), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Apr 6, 2004 Draught: dark golden body with a sticky head. Sugary caramel palate with some nice pine. I don't know why I wanted this to be spicy, I am just strange. . . the finish is long and dry and while I like this one, I can't help but think that there was something missing. . . Vac (2389), San Diego, California, USA Mar 20, 2004 This brew pours iwth a deep amber body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slighlty sweet yet slightly bitter with a slight citrusy note and a peachy, mango note. The flavor is mostly bitter but slightly sweet with a touch of citrus, a little piney note, as well as, peach and mango notes. Medium bodied and smooth with a slight dryness. npdempse (931), St. Petersburg, Florida, USA Mar 17, 2004 Copper, little head. Intense citric hop nose, hint of bready malt underneath. Bitter, piney, grapefruity hops dominate, just atouch of sweet malt to balance things. Dry, bitter finish. Viva la HopHead.
