Big time hops- both in the aroma and taste, mainly the taste. Well balanced and drinkable at 6.5%. This should be Full Sail’s premier winter brew over that Wassail failure. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 12, 2004 Clear dark amber body, short-lived off-white head. The aroma has light grapefruit rind, grape vine stem and vanilla cake. Intense american hops in the flavor - grapefruit tempered by sweet grassiness. Additionally, there’s cinnamon stick, cookie dough and bitter grapefruit in the finish. A pretty typcal PNW IPA, not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2003 I have to say that this one looks like apple cider. A nice hill top head also. An interesting combo of hops, citrus and stomach acid in the aroma. Lots of thick malts make up the body of this brew, and I must say that it has a strong washington apple flavor to it along with some chalk, hops and some type of citrus, probably grapefruit. joet (1709), Fulton, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2002 Updated: Apr 12, 2004Well balanced, semi-dry, a bit of skunk but in a good way. Bits of spice are pleasant understated like this. A solid holiday brew. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 6, 2006 another one that pours out alot darker than i was expecting. this one has a spicy odd taste that is not unpleasant but maybe not what i was looking for in an ipa. hops and malts are there, and so is that spicy sweetness. not bad, not great, but certainly drinkable and worth trying. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2007 22oz bottle pours a hazy orange/amber topped with a cream off white head. A great hop aroma. Tast is also very nice and hoppy. Not much bitter going on. A little sweet. Very tasty. jimhilt (1695), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Pours a one finger cream head that fades slowly leaving a good lace. Clear amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Hoppy nose. Flavor is smooth but hoppy, maybe spices in the background, lingering bitter aftertaste. Typical IPA. $3.79 for a 22oz bottle from John’s Marketplace Portland, OR. hayduke (1690), Eureka, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2007 From a 22 ounce bottle, this poured a hazy copper color with an nice long lasting cream head that was very attractive and left good lacing. Nose of citrus hops with grapefruit dominating and a malt undertone underneath. Mouthfeel is slightly oily. Flavors are hops and malts, with some spices showing, and the malts are well balanced with the hops Finish is long and bitter and what you would expect from a quality IPA, which this is for sure.
