| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2003 Clear light copper. Fat, sticky, frothed foam. Typical hop accented aroma, which mostly shows notes of enticing pine sap and orange. Quickly ruining things are the underlying phenols. Underneathe the hops, a big leafy character, trace of maple, and lightly toasted malt. Funky tangerine, phenolic, and medicinal flavors don't help the cause. An acidic tinge manages to assist in the spoilage of flavors. Long hop belches squelch the lingering toasted malt finish, which is coupled with a touch of salty hop leaf. The palate, which is beautifully round and soft is nice. A very predictable, forgettable IPA. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2004 2003 Bottle. Deep golden brown, good sized head and good lacing. Aroma is citrus/pine and toasty. Palate is almost chewy and full of malt. Nicely balanced between sweet and hoppy - neither side really takes charge. While I enjoyed this, it really wasn’t anything super special. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2004 This brew pours iwth a deep amber body topped by a thick head with a good amount of lacing. The aroma is slighlty sweet yet slightly bitter with a slight citrusy note and a peachy, mango note. The flavor is mostly bitter but slightly sweet with a touch of citrus, a little piney note, as well as, peach and mango notes. Medium bodied and smooth with a slight dryness. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 29, 2003 Bronze color with a nice off-white head and light lacing. The aroma is dusty musky hop with sweet caramel malt. The flavor isn't balanced at all, but it's still easy drinking. A good refreshing winter seasonal without all that spicy malt and pine that is standard in a normal winter beer. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

The head on this was large and sticky, white and lasted all the way.
Well balanced aroma of pine and citrus.
The aromas replayed again in the flavor, with the malt and hop bitterness going back and forth with the slight bitterness winning out overall. The body could have been a bit more solid to suit my liking, but this is a good everyday IPA. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 6, 2008 Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, blankboy’s 2005 bottle. Very very nice aroma of fresh citrus hops. Dark orange, still, very little head. Good taste - mild hops, fresh malt, easy to drink, light to medium body. Some alcohol in finish. Very easy to drink while not leaving too much of an impression in the taste department.
