UPDATED: MAY 21, 2016 16.9 ounce can sold as "Zywiec 1856" from Delhi Liquor Store, tasted on May 14, 2016. Unless production of this beer stopped very recently, I don’t see why it’s "retired". The can I have gives an expiration date of July 31, 2016. Whatever. Medium gold hue, sweet aroma, mostly sweet taste with odd backround of cardboard and what seems like an unusual adjunct. Tick tick tick tick...

330 ml bottle. Labeled as Zywiec 1856. 5.6%ABV. Brassy gold pour. Small creamy white head. Faint grainy malt nose. Flavor is sweet malt and corn syrup. Slightly bitter in middle. Brief dry finish has light floral hop notes.

R4N5H (645) - NETHERLANDS - APR 29, 2016
33cl bottle at the LOT Business Lounge, Warsaw on 29-Apr-2016. Refreshing pale lager with grassy notes, lightly hopped and a slight sweet malt taste. Not bad for a lager,

Bouteille 50 cl - couleur or pale, mousse faible, gout simple, houblon, céréale, légére amertume en note finale. Une bière simple mais efficace.

On tap in a hotel in Hampton Warsaw. Typical average lager. Maybe a little bit more bitter

Gbgbrouge (375) - SWEDEN - MAR 28, 2016
Poured from bottle, clear gold with medium head. Aroma of bread and grass/hay. Taste rather sweet with a slightly bitter finish. Still a tad better than your average Big Beer lager.

can - straw yellow in color. Not much aroma to speak of. Tastes like a mass-produced corn beer. Nothing special.

AaronTDubs (251) - - FEB 24, 2016
Clear gold/yellow color. Average carbonation for the style. Has a deeper, almost roasted flavor with the typical biscuit notes. Very little hop aroma. Very unremarkable flavor. Balanced, but boring in all respects. Has a very unclean aftertaste...knocking this down from average to bad.

Bierdimpfe (179) - Quebec, CANADA - FEB 8, 2016
Bright straw color, almost golden. White 3 finger head lasting around 6 minutes. Average legs with some high activity. Faint aromas and flavors of corn, grains, honey, light citrus, slightly skunky. More of a bitter herbal taste with a dash of sweetness. Slick light body with excessive carbonation. Short/medium finish ending with a bitter dry skunky feel. Overall : Faint smell and watery flavors. Freshness is ok but the craft is missing some personality.

1/29/26 Chicago (500 ml bottle poured into lager glass). Pale, clear golden pour, minimal carbonation, quickly dissipating head. Faint grain aroma. Sweet corn taste, firm texture, decent kick and feel. Mediocre.
