Fruity aroma like the description states, much like fruitcake smothered in whiskey or brandy. The taste is complex, with notes of candied fruit, chocolate, and spices. Each sip I take I taste something I didn’t taste before. This was recommended to me by a store employee, and I’m glad I tried it. I really like the initial sweetness and bitter finish. Definitely a keeper, but a little expensive to drink often.

A solid brew by Fullers. Smooth as a bottle conditioned beer should be. A good hearty beer for a cold winter evening. The story behind the hops makes it even better.

A wonderful thing. This is the only brewery I ever toured in England and I don’t recall this being one of the offerings. I have been passing this one up for a long time and i am sorry I have. Wholy yeasty but not offensive. Beneath is a a plathora of flovours; hops, rosted malt and dried cherry. Love it.

Roasty caramel aroma and flavor with some maltiness and hop notes. Some initial yeastiness that is on the overwhelming side, but this subsides with warmth. Nice syrupy caramel taste.

Once the initial yeastiness is overcome, a hoppy, roasty beer emerges. Roasted barley and apple aroma is hampered by the yeastiness, while the nutty, apple, raspberry, tea, hops, and roasted caramel flavor hides the yeast better. Dark amber with a long head and dry, hoppy finish, the yeast presence sabotages what otherwise is an excellent brew.

Well...if I could only choose one beer to drink, this would be the one! I find it amazing and can’t say one thing bad about it.

Hop aroma and flavor is the dominant element with a well-developed smooth and creamy feel. It’s hardy and full flavored without anything simple hammering at a single point.
