1 pt. 0.9 oz bottle with a best before date of 6/16/10. My very first impression as I sniffed the opened bottle was straight tobacco. It is chestnut in color and to be honest it doesn;t have a great head but it does have good lacing, maybe my glass wasn’t perfectly clean. It smells and tastes quite malty, some bready fruitiness, very robust flavor. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 01-25-2010 02:50:46

This is a big beer. From the monumental head to the big deep raisens and plums. It is epic... as they say.

Aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, spiced rum and cherries. Appearance is dark red with tan head. Flavor is the epitome of English beer: Defining caramel malt backbone, but with a chocolate cherry rum twist. Palate is creamy and the finish abrupt. My favorite English beer.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2010 The nose is all spice, fruitcake, even a touch of brandy. Very little head, but the color and mouthfeel is elegant. The flavor is a neat mix of bitter and sweet, with a faint savory overtone -- roasted grain, perhaps, or rye bread. If this is what bottle-conditioned ales are about, then I am on board.

Pours dark copper color with tan head. Aromas of dark fruits and caramel. Flavors of raisins, toasted malts, nuts and iced tea. It has an off tasting medicinal aftertaste. Medium body with minimal carbonation.

1Pt. 0.9 Fl Oz. bottle purchased at Cost Plus in Redding, CA. Color: Medium reddish color with a nice off white head that retains. Bouquet: figs, toffee, with notes of nutmeg. Palate: Very well balanced hop / malt balance- nutty, almond roca type flavor. Finish: dry, hoppy, nutty finish. Fullers is one of the world greats in brewing. I had the pleasure of meeting the brew master in Seatlle back in 1994 at (what was Alehouse Distributing back then) when I used to deliver kegs and bottles to pubs, stores, etc.

@ Kickbacks Gastropub Jacksonville, FL. A whopping $9 bottle of beer. They are getting ridiculous with the prices on brew. I suppose the masses have caught on. The beer pours a nice dark amber. Head blows up like Hiroshima and the winch @ the pub made sure that I knew so. It was all head. Beer has a decent nose. English hops and malts, and a nice bitter grain. Taste is solid grains, mild hops, and burnt malts. Some spices, however not overwhelmingly. Subtly played, and in favor. Decent brew. Not sure i’d drop $9 on t his again, nor $12 on the Vintage ale.
