UPDATED: MAY 23, 2011 Must re8 , thAt aroma is good shit...complex and rich , fruitcake , fugggles and burnt notes . Powerful , deeply malty and once upon a time my favorite beer on earth.4 score(r8_) it looks beautiful ...smells of earthy hops..fruitcake..cuban cigars...and obese malts. in the mouth its rich , treacly jamish and with a burnt nuttiness. notes of chocolate ..earthy hops with floral accents bring back good memories. The palate is less full bodied than I recall , so just a 3 there . A cultured bottle conditioned beer..

could just be the style of beer, but I was dissappointed in this one. subtle aroma of spiciness and some hops. nice copper colour. Taste really didn’t do much for me (again it could just be the style that doesn’t appeal to me) I found it to be uneventful overall, some spiciness and hoppiness in the taste with some bitterness in the finish. May retry in future

Shared with Pyrozoid. Nice copper poor with a frothy off-white head. Aromas of bubble gum, caramel, indian pepper, alcohol, sel de celeri with creamy hints. Strong hoppy bitter mouthfeel - longlasting. Cask flavors, hints of nutmeg and pine. Very good overall.

Bouteille de 500 ml. Deguste avec french tickler. Biere de couleur rouille cuivre avec un mince collet non collant. Odeur de sucre brun, un peu fumer, poivre et fruits. Gout de sucre, ble, sel de celerie et un peu fumer.
