Bottle from one of the supermarkets. A clear dark brown pour with a thin white long-lasting head with some sticky lace. Sweet malty aroma leads into a lovely rich malty citrusy flavour with a hint of caramel. The combination of hops works well and sits nicely on the palate. This is a gorgeous, rich, refreshing ale that I really need to enjoy more often. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rich and complex blend of fruits, toffee, chocolate and hops on the nose, with sweet creamy alcohol notes on the tongue. A great ale.

very well-balanced strong ale, exactly what you should expect from that kind of a beer - it has a strong taste. Little bit too fizzy at the beginning, but after 5 minutes, excellent ale!

3/27/2014. From bottle and a little past the best by date. Copper color with a tan head. Sweet malty aromas with caramel and spices. Bitter flavors, spices, caramel, hops, fruity. OK, but not my favorite.
