Clear brown to orange, thick pillowy beige head. Earthy aromas of dark fruit, hearty bread and a malt sweetness. Light toasted malt flavor gives way to a gentle caramel and floral hops. Perfectly balanced by a crisp, spicy bite. Finish battles between a malt and hops.

Bottle - red with a frothy and rocky light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malt and grass. Taste of roasty malts, tar and toffee with notes of earth and grass coming through after and an ending of cocoa and medium bitterness. A little hint of alcohol, which isn’t unwelcomed. Medium body, low carbonation.

caramel, brown, hazy, tan foam, very bitter, medium sweetness, full body, creamy, soft carbonation, bitter, some people might like this stuff a lot its palatable but to much for me i dont know if its the strength or the strong fruitcake smell i dont know but im not keen

Bottle conditioned. Glowing amber, slightly hazy, poured with a beautiful head leading to lovely lacing. All the superlatives used in previous reviews are justified and I’m not going to plagerise - go deeper with this beer; close your eyes, it’s the beach, there’s sea spray coming off the breakers and you can smell the sand and scrub grasses. This beer is an amazing triumph of brewing expertise but it’s more than that, it’s a total sensory treat.

Bottle - pours brown with an off white head. Caramel/burt sugar, nuts, plum, dried fruit. Sweetness up front, lots of plummy fruitiness. Mellows into a dry port like finish, which feels like its coated the tongue. Nice velvety mouthfeel. Nice beer!

Bottle; dark amber pour with a thin off white head; sweet aroma with dark fruits, caramel, malt, and a hint of spice; sweet taste of caramel and malt with hints of dark fruits, nuts, and some spice; has some coffee bitterness in the dry finish; very nice complex beer that is pretty easy to drink.

Bottle. Deep reddish brown, clear. Good sized head, light tan colour, small bubbles. Head fades quick. Strong sugar / caramel aroma, like pear drops. Fruity. Initially the sweetness and bitterness is balanced, but the stronger bitter taste comes through more prominently in the aftertaste. Fruit and spice in the initial taste, strong dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Decent punch from the alcohol too. Very good quality and very nice to drink.

Flaska från @thaalcoholic, tack! Dimmig bärnstensfärgad vätska med ljust skum. Karamellig söt doft. Stadig karamellmaltig smak där sötman balanseras väl. Den lite högre alkoholhalten passar mycket bra.

500 mL bottle from SoHo Organic Market, Elizabeth City, NC (best before March 25, 2015). Brownish-orange pour with a frothy khaki head. Aroma of light chocolate, graham cracker, and faint citrus. Taste offers smoke, roasted nuts, toffee, chocolate, and very faint tangerine. Pairs well with cheddar and Gruyère. A perfect example of the style.

pours unclear richly bright amber-red with a small creamy light beige-reddish head showing some retention and a nice lacing. fruity, woodsy, nutty and spicy malts/hops - incredible malt/hop bill, specialty malts, red fruitiness - some berries, cherries, bit of toffee w/o being caramelly not buttery, green coffee beans, fruitcake spices indeed, bitter chocolate, pepper, clean english yeast - nothing off and leaving way for malts to express themselves freely, soft earthy notes, hint of sweetness, grass. moderately low carbonation, light to medium body - oily but never heavy, lightly astringent and assertive grassy-spicy-peppery-earthy finish. balanced. like a masterfully crafted strong bitter. very good!

Bottle from greens and in my most rated beer mission. Nutty almond and caramel aromas. Big sweet candi sugar flavors. Molasses and nuts again too. Way better than Sam smiths and something I would get again pending other options. Nice drink.
