4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
I first tasted this beer in 1995, or was it 1845? Canít remember but it was long ago. I didnít care much for the aftertaste at the time, coarse hops and very bitter.
Jump on several years and the local supermarket has an offer on too good to miss. Bottle conditioned, 6.3%, Fullerís - ticks all he right boxes so I thought Iíd give it another try.
Well, what a beer, glorious! Real ale in a bottle. Massive fruit & malt, perfectly balanced, some citrus, yeast & burnt toffee. Thereís something about the aftertaste Iím not liking still but this dissipates slightly the older it gets. Nevertheless, this is an amazing brew by todayís standards and one I canít imagine being without for so long ever again.

Bottle. Full and intense beer filled to the brim with biscuits and fresh, slightly citrusy hops. The residual sweetness is countered by a slightly chocolatey bitterness. Immaculately balanced and dangerously sessionable brew. Fabulous!

500 ml bottle shared by Huhzubendah, thanks Matt! Pours a clear dark caramel brown with thick white head that leaves sticky lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, brown sugar, and a nutty complexity. Flavor is same with medium body, moderate but ideal carbonation level, and a nutty sweet finish. Solid.

Bottle of 50cl.
Very nice and strange taste because of her complexity (caramel and roasted, and sweet too), helped with very nice palate and colour.
One of the best beer iíve taste (in her kind).

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown with great tan head. Good lacing. Aroma is loads of toffee, spice, prunes and English fruity yeast. Round and sticky palate. Aftertaste is rich, fruity, spicy, caramel and some noble hops. Overall: As good as English ales gets.

"not strong for a strong ale, but very smooth and quite flavorful. slight spicy, fruity hints play with the overriding malty goodness. recommended beer..."

500ml bottle poured in a chalice
A: Beautiful bottle art. Nice and imposing Fullerís style. Also beautiful amber color with a beige head formed when poured. Small retention but many lacings left
S: Sweet and fruity smell. Caramel and malts are evident. Notes of brown bread and grapes. A bit of citrus hops in the end
T: Very malty and Brit but also fruity. Bit sweet upfront followed by quite citrus hoppy end. Absolutely easy to drink. Impossible to imagine its medium ABV
M: Medium body. A bit molasses. Medium to low carbonation. Delicious bitterness
O: Great Beer

Bottle 0.5l. Clear amber witn medium beige head, nice lacing. Aroma of cherry, honey, malty, some caramel notes. The taste is as the nose, balanced bitter-sweet flavors, a bit woody. Light carbonation, medium body. Semi-dry sticky bitter aftertaste.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - red with a frothy and rocky light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malt and grass. Taste of roasty malts, tar and toffee with notes of earth and grass coming through after and an ending of cocoa and medium bitterness. A little hint of alcohol, which isnít unwelcomed. Medium body, low carbonation.
