Re-rate 7/24/11: Bottle sample at a Fuller’s tasting at Porter & Sons. Deep red-amber with a beige head. Aroma of lots of malt, caramel and fruits. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, honey, some toastiness, fruits and a drier finish with some slightly earthy bitter hoppiness and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied. 6/4/6/3/12=3.1

Pours a creamy off-white head on a hazy amber colored body. Aroma is heavy and sweet with malt, hops, fruit and oranges - very nice and tempting. Flavor is malty and spicy with pepper and toffee notes. A thick and flavorfull mouthful. Very nice!

50cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear ruby amber colour, dense off white head, looks stunning. Aroma of toasted malts, caramel, coffee, hint of cabbage but not in a bad way, nutmeg. Flavour is light sweet, malty, some coffee/moccha, bitter roast, amber malts, bit of caramel, firm hoppy light fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied, slick. Really nice beer imo.

Bottle best before 20/jun/06. A decent fermented fruit aroma to this beer. Amber body with large head and good lacing. A rich spicey apple flavor some caramelized body to this one. Dry fruity aftertaste on palate. Another good beer pick out for me by my wife.

Bottle. 04.19.04. Pour is a tarnished brass, highlighted in amber tones. The head is huge and brainy, eggshell. Aromas are of sweet malts, cakey (?), slight spicey bitterness, coriander. The flavors have similar notes. As with the last beer tonight, I am noting a distinct salt flavor. (Is my palate corrupted today?) The finish tends towards cream, butter, sugared fruits. It's not such distinct beer, but it is evidently well-crafted. An interesting example.

Bottle, at the Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. Wow, yet another superb Fullers product - probably the best one I've tried so far. A dark, red/purple colour, with a stable head, and enticing musty aroma. A massive fruit hit grabs you on the first sip - strawberry and blackcurrant mainly, with a crisp jet of hops on the finish. Satisfying, full, thick beer, with a a hint of strength that lingers nicely in your throat.
