Deep brownish orange, thick creamy lightly tanned head. A fantastic rich nose of dried plums, raisin, and citrus that are woven over layers of English toffee brittle and soft wet tea leaves. Dry dark fruity flavors, light anise, and touches of caramel are nicely balanced with a soft hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dark fruity, light bittersweet finish. Don’t pass this one up. It’s a classic in my book....

Excellent complex flavor and aroma, typified by yeast, fruit, with dry bitter finish. Especially complex for an English ale.

Huge head of fine bubbles. Creamy on top and light tan in color. Roasty aroma of fresh, crusty bread, a hint of coffee and a slight hops nose that becomes more prominent as the beer warms. Color is a nice deep reddish orange. Wow. This stuff is incredibly easy to drink. Goes down smooth and makes you beg for more. Flavor is roasty with a good helping of malt, a touch of fruit and a bit of alcohol. Finish is creamy and smooth with a slight hops bitterness and a nice alcohol warming. A very well balanced brew that is way to easy to drink for the 6+ % alcohol.

Amber color, thick head, good lacing. Toffee aroma with a light touch off liquorice. Medium bodied with a big and long bitterness. Great ale!

Pours a medium/dark amber color. Strong aroma. Sort of a roasted toffee sort of a thing going on. Maybe a little ginger or something. Nice full mouthfeel. Lots of roasted maltiness. Pretty much seems to be pure roastiness. I like it like that.

Poured a rich amber color with a tall, tan head that lasted most of the glass. Rich flavor that was full of maltiness, caramels, and fruits. Hints of sweetness and floral tones. Very tasty brew.

Dark brown in colour, off white head. Aroma of malt, cookies, some ginger and some sweetness. Flavour was malty, nutty, slighlty sweet, full bodied. Finishes slightly dry and bitter. Very good beer.
