Nice head and dark amber color. There is a lot of floral, fruity and malty notes and the bitterness is spot on in this great, almost slightly vinous beer.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2008 Firm, lasting head. Aroma and taste both have malt, raisin and licorice. Good lacing. Alcohol burn. Some roasted malt and oak. Great strong ale. Cask: dark brown color. Marmalade fruit and some earthy hops in the aroma. Red fruit jam, bitter cookies and earthy, citric and flowery hops in the flavor. Malty, slightly alcoholic, full bodied. A firm peppery hopbitterness in the aftertaste. Delicious!

clear amber, giant thick light brown head. hoppy and slightly citrussy aroma. sweet, malty, caramelly, slightly dry flavor. sweetness and slight bitternes in the flavor lingers for long after you’ve sipped. very tasty and because of the dry hops, also quite drinkable almost quenching.

This beer rocks! Slightly hazy, deep copper ale. Large, rocky, beige-colored head. Good lacework. The nose is full of stuff: Raisins, light molasses, yeast (bread dough), tawny port and caramel. The flavor matches the aroma. A medley of many rich things; caramel and molasses foremost. Fairly well-balanced. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Excellent finish! Lengthy, bittersweet and moderately alcoholic. Reminds me of a good scotch ale. A winner!
