Pours dark reddish amber with nice sized, tight off white head- though it does dissapate rather quickly. Nose of caramel malt, hops, and bitter chocolate. Upon first sip, I was blasted by hops which subsided into a complex, malty finish. Flavours of citrus and smokey caramel with a hint of earth in there as well. Everything is well balanced in this brew- hops, malt, and alchohol.

Dark brown with a red tint, lots of dusty floaties due to the bottle-conditioning. Decent light tan head, quickly reduces to a thin mat of bubbles. Aroma is of damp hay, fruit, and alcohol. The flavor is very complex and difficult to pin down. I'd call it a spicy cake with rum splashed on top. Has a pretty dry start, too. Very interesting beer.

Aroma is rich and malty with a smoky, almost stout-like undertone. Color is a clear brown, somewhere between mahogany and dark caramel; head is thin but fine-bubbled. Rich flavor has strong hoppy overtone and strong smoky and nutty hints. Texture is pleasantly smooth. This is one ale for sipping and savoring rather than just gulping.

This is by far the best Fuller’s I’ve ever had. (Fuller’s night) Mahogany pour wuth an aroma of bread and caramel malts, Flvors of hop, spice, earth, and fruit. A mild wood finish. I liked it.

Bottle @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a deep coppery red body with a medium, long-lived creamy off-white head. Light caramel and toffee tones dominate the aroma, with hints of nuts and grains. Taste is deep roasty grainy caramel tones with some nuts and layers of sweet malts - all exquisitely blended. Another British-style classic ale from Fullers, who rarely disappoints. Solid stuff.
