2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle shared with McTapps. Pours in deep brown. Nose is sour and grainy. Aroma of black coffee. Tastes like a bit black coffee and roasted malt. Definitely a quality beer but this one does not hit my preferences.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brown colour, fluffy head. Aroma of caramel, spice, bread, herbs. The body is medium to full what’s the main advantage of this beer for sure. Smooth sweeness and obvious biterness in taste. Medium bitter finish & aftertaste (a bit too harsh in my opinion). Well made beer as a whole but nothing really surprizing.

Clear dark copper body with a fluffy well-lasting head. Nose has mild notes of caramel, syrup and herbs. Taste is bold with a sweet base accompanied by a caramelly sweetness and a minimally dry finish with some roastiness to it. Carbonation is soft and the palate is heavily rich and creamy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours a reddish copper caramel with a foamy two finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of fruity esters, caramel, butterscotch, fruit cake, toffee, sweet malts, and some spices. Taste is similar to the aroma with the addition of some light grassy hops, lasses/burnt brown sugar, and rum. Has a medium-full body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, sightly bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a very nice English Strong Ale that is a great winter warmer that isn’t over 10% abv.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Ye ole 1845, why doest thou seem so appealing? It is better in concept than reality. I want to like it more but I just dont. Tastes of molasses and fruitiness with some biscuit (which I would rather have than the beer itself). That being said it is a must try, just not fully my thing.
