Copper to Ruby Coloring? Spice, fruit. Malt and Hops. Fullers is not my favorite by personal taste, but they make an excellent effort here...worth keeping some around to age.

Average size tan head atop a garnet body that leaves nice lacing. Aroma of soft fruit, bready malts and yeast. Earthy taste, some sweetness, mild nuttiness, but well balanced by fragrant, floral hops. Very smooth mouthfeel, gently carbonated, with a dry, long lasting finish. Complex, but extremely drinkable.

Bottle, pours hazy brown, minimal head. Malt and hoppy aroma, with some fruit. Big english malt, darka dn sweet bread, right balance of hops, bittersweet. Smooth malty dough finish, clean. A great English ale.

Slightly cloudy deep orange red. Aroma of malt and a licorice kind of fruity aroma. Flavor profile does a sort of "hops first" attack on the tongue, and then follows with a sweet, lingering maltiness that lasts nicely. This stuff is well made and delicious.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2004 Dark brown medium head, stron hops and malts in the nose. Kind of musty actually, but more of warm not moist or damp must. Smooth with currants on the taste, bitter and hoppy on the finish.

Deep red with cream head, Sharp hops followed by long bitterness. Very strong flavours. I like this a lot. Bitterness in the finish is quite amazingly strong and long lasting. Palate clean after a smooth mediumly thick malt. Probably put this up with Ruddles as one of the ones worth buying at hideous import pricing due to the unique strengths.
