500ml bottle. copper pour with a big tan head that sticks around. good looking brew. muted but good aroma of toasted malts, caramel and light hops. well balanced taste of toffee/caramel malts and candied fruits - backed up by a dry, spicey, orange peel finish (comes off as salty). overall quality stuff.

Aroma is semisweet with a very grain/oats based scent. Pour is excellent wtih a dark hue and a highly carbinated essense that leads to a thick head. Mouthfeel is very smooth with a long lasting flavor base. Flavor is very hoppy with a hint of dried fruit.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2008 Tried at Pizza Port’s Real Ale festival on cask. Nice malty aroma. Nice color. Above average beer I like it. I’ve seen it at the stores for a while, but this is the first time I’ve tried it. Rerate: 4/11/08. Nice malty aroma. Easy to drink everyday beer. Exact same rating.

Ladies and gentlemen this is beer with a malt backbone. Pours the most beautiful amber copper tone, with a deep thick head. Tight carbonation. Aroma is earthy, fruity and.....malty! This is a heavy beer with not much in the hop area. Not as balanced as far as hops and malt, but good nonetheless.

Bottle - Clear copper colour with a good beige head. Low to medium carbonation. Medium body. Caramel malts. Dark fruits. A little spicy. Touch of alcohol. Moderately bitter, dry finish with fruity aftertaste. Very nice.

Aroma: Caramel, malt, toffee, butterscotch. That’s a nice aroma. Appearance: Opaque brown, some carbonation, thin frothy beige head. Palate: Quite thick, quite a bite at the end. Taste: dmugawugamuwaapfdsiujhgdjp. Very sweet, very rich, bit also quite a bitter finish. I like it!

I tried this beer on November 2, 2007 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. The beer poured a translucent reddish brown colour with a generous tan coloured head which dissipated into little foam islands on the top of the beer. The aroma is malty with some hints of fruit tones and cloves. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a little carbonation, and some bitterness. The flavour is mainly malty, a little licorice, and a little bitterness.
