Mmmm good. What an English strong should be. Probably just crosses the line from ESB, as it has an undiluted ESB character. Earthy English hops, malty rich aromas and finish. Well balanced and thoroughly enjoyable. Great with a pork chop.

Bottle conditioned from Sainsbury’s. Dark red/amber. Aroma of autumn fruits, toast, spices. Good firm chewy mouthfeel. Very pleasant.

Fullers seems to have cornered the market on the whole English Strong Ale brewing. And this one is cetainly worth it’s weight as one of the better Ales. Straight up AMber with a lot of foam. Sweets all around in the drink of candy, toffee, butter, fruit. Buttery and spicy. Awesome!

Took me awhile to rate this since I find it hard to describe. Pours nice reddish orange with bigg fluffy head that soon dissapears but leaves some lacing behind. Has a really unique and lively mouthfeel. Taste is malty, hoppy, sweet and nice touch of bitterness. I’d have to think this is one of Britain’s best beers.

This beer pours a deep amber with a large tan head leaving some good lacing down the sides. On the nose I can smell the malts, kinda sweetish and spicy. This is one very drinkable beer... It’s not gonna fill me up! I like this beer and will buy it again! Cheers!

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2005 Aaaahhh, finally a bottle of Fuller’s I am completely satisfied with, and nothing beats a bottle-conditioned beer. Poured into a pint glass (bottle, 19/10/05), cool and not cold. Deep garnet-amber body, the clarity of honey, with a big dense, creamy off-white head that left an abundance of lace down the glass as I sipped (possibly the most appealing pint of beer I have seen). Aroma of dried of fruits, resinous earthy hops, cocoa powder and dark chocolate, quite spicy and dry. Similarly dry and spicy in the mouth, quite homely, warming and malty . Head gets in the way of tasting it and added a creamy edge to the reasonably smooth mouth feel. Medium bodied and light in carbonation, it had a little noticeable yeast and alcohol spice that added to the complex balanced malty palate. Smoky grain, burnt sugars, brine ?, milk chocolate and a light amount of butterscotch (nothing detrimental) added to some otherwise undefinable characters of this lovely beer. A nice drop.

Such a perfect example of the style. I agree with Kevin that the malt shines here, without as much of the thick sweetness as in the Vintage 1999. Here the drawback might be the palate is a tad thin. Wonderful long lingering malty finish, alcohol burns so slightly, aroma is heaven with a slice of spiced rum fruitcake. Real real good. Beautiful presentation.

Bottle best before 20/jun/06. A decent fermented fruit aroma to this beer. Amber body with large head and good lacing. A rich spicey apple flavor some caramelized body to this one. Dry fruity aftertaste on palate. Another good beer pick out for me by my wife.
