Looks great and tastes better....i think it’s got better with age, it’s now really well rounded, raisins soaked in sherry, port and juicy malt thanks Paul!! imdownthepub (5191), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England

Rich heady beer with dark caramel, toffee notes full on malt with a noticeable alcohol presence. Heavier palate than the standard ESB, there is not too much free sugars and the beginnings of a dry finish with dry hops. Good stuff. Ethereal (1710), London, Greater London, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Bottle at Chris_O’s 19th April 2008 tasting. Orangey amber with a firm white head. Aroma of hops, burnt sugar, caramel and malt. Nice flavour, very similar to Golden Pride (unsuprisingly). Robust palate with the alcohol making itself felt. Decent stuff. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 27, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle at Chris_O’s Ha Ha Ha Ha Gimme the Cheese Tasting. Rich amber with a good beige head and lace. Notes of soy let the aroma down a little but some good malt and creamy caramel sort it out, light notes of tobacco too. Similar flavour but it works slightly better for me. Overly yeasty in the finish or it could have been even better. Dry hopping is virtually undetectable sadly, though I’m not sure if this beer would need it. Certainly one of Fullers better offerings. harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England

Amber colour with thin beige head. Little bit of must on aroma. Good Fullers beer with decent flavours in mouth. Aroma isn’t great, but the rest is very good and drinkable. thewolf (5838), Kolding, Denmark

[thank you, Harrisoni (now ;o) )]
Pours a wonderful golden amber with a small, creamy off-white head. Aroma is sweet, light port, nuts and mild hoppiness. Fine mouthfeel, good carbonation. Flavour is dry, light oxidized, port and quite nice. SilkTork (4195), Rochester, Kent, England
