(Bottle 50 cl)A hazy orange beer with a thin disappearing orange head. Rather unusual aroma: very spicy on a malty caramel back ground. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of caramel, combined with a light spicyness. Medium body with a dry finish.Very good beer!

Bottle as anniversary ale, picked up from the brewery a couple of years past itís supposed best by date. The nose is varnish, caramel/ toffee, dark fruits, earth, toast, somewhat vinous, light oxidised notes. The taste is toast, earth, wood, caramel, varnish, tangy dark fruit, berry, fruit cake, wine and light alcohol presence with a dry finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Has an air of Gales Prize Old Ale about it. Rather nice.

UPDATED: AUG 20, 2013 This is one heck of a good beer. Packed with sugary malts and hoppy bitters to get a well balanced tasty beer. Flavors of rye, fruit, raisin, nuts and caramel. Good full body without getting thick. Sugary texture and medium carbo kick. Havenít had (m)any better aleís then this one.

Pours clear red/amber. Candied aroma and flavor with some baking spice. Slight sweetness on the palate. Very good, full, but not at all bitter.

Sweet molasses with a hint of hops. Smooth on the palate. Loved the presentation of the aroma, almost nutty.

Amber pour with a sweet nose of raisin, molasses, caramel and hop. A nice bitter sweet flavor with a dry hoppy raisin, grape fruit finish. Good.

Bottle that Peter Fowler, Shoulder of Mutton kindly shared at tasting at his pub 28.04.11 Pours amber this has a great fruity tang, not sure of the age of this beer but it has been well looked after and is in remarkably good nick. Really easy to get on with this, soft in the mouth, good body, some hoppiness also still evident, lovely fruitiness, nice stuff, very nice stuff actually. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9
