3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 TheGrandMaster (2313) - Auckland, - MAR 14, 2006
And an anniversary of sorts for me too - being my 300th rating, and a good drop to bring it up with too (and one I drink in honour of newly born yalnikim junior - may he have the opportunity to drink as many a fine an ale as I have/will). Pint pulled at The Flute & Whistle in Putney (London), brown with a thin bubbly beige head. A flowery and fruity aroma with apricots and tangerine. A very smooth palate with tangy undertones, combining with the juicy malt and spicy hops flavours (with a hint of plums).

Bottle that Peter Fowler, Shoulder of Mutton kindly shared at tasting at his pub 28.04.11 Pours amber this has a great fruity tang, not sure of the age of this beer but it has been well looked after and is in remarkably good nick. Really easy to get on with this, soft in the mouth, good body, some hoppiness also still evident, lovely fruitiness, nice stuff, very nice stuff actually. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Tried at the brewery. Touch of boiled vege on the nose...hardly surprising for it’s age! Looks great and tastes better....i think it’s got better with age, it’s now really well rounded, raisins soaked in sherry, port and juicy malt thanks Paul!!
