COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular (but not permanent). Also available bottle conditioned (at 5.3%).

NOTE: Originally developed for Systembolaget in Sweden as the 5.3% bottle conditioned version of Fullers India Pale Ale in 2009. Also released in bottles into some other export markets under that name at around the same time. Subsequently launched in the UK as Bengal Lancer and exported at 5.3% in bottle conditioned format to certain export markets under that name. The bottled version of Bengal Lancer and the 5.3% bottle conditioned version of India Pale Ale are the same beer, as is the slightly weaker 5.0% cask version. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDQNyaNLkQc for explanation.

Bengal Lancer is an exciting, classic India Pale Ale from Fullerís. Brewed to 5% ABV (5.3% in bottle), this ale has been inspired by the history and character of this traditional style of beer.
Bengal Lancer has returned to pumps for an extended period between Autumn 2011 and Spring 2012.
The beer is pale in colour, full-bodied with a distinctive hoppiness that marks it out as a true India Pale Ale.

Pours a hazy, deep gold, with a medium, white head. Typical Fullerís hops dominate aroma. Flowery. Dryish, flowery hops and malty fruitiness dominate flavor. Dryish, slightly bitter aftertaste. Fairly mild carbonation, medium body, dryish mouthfell. Standard Fullerís fair -- good, but not particularly exciting.

Draft taster - nose s floral and grassy. Sip adds caramel and stronger grass notes. Refreshing and lacking the bite of Nordic and American IPAs. Light to medium body.

Bottled. Clear amber with a very small off-white head that soon disappeared. Mainly malt on the nose, with a hint of citrus. Quite sweet, malt and some citrus again, then a dry, nicely bitter finish. Clean flavours, with a touch of warmth from the alcohol and a nice astringency. Good.

Bottle - amber with a frothy beige head which quite quickly fades to a ring. Weak lacing. Aroma is floral and grassy with coriander seeds. Some hints of blackcurrant and alcohol. Taste of grass and flowers with maltiness and earth coming through shortly after. A little bit of orange and lemon and a light bitterness to end.

This pours a clear, amber color with a foamy beige head. The aroma is weak with malty hints. The taste is dry, smooth, and a little hoppy. Interesting but certainly not what you expect for an IPA.

Growler from Moondog Growlers in Sandy Springs. Pours dark copper, with a small, bubbly, tan head. Caramel, cloves, straw, floral hops, and molasses. Sweet and syrupy, with a mellow hoppy bitterness. Medium body, thick, and chalky. More ESB than IPA, but a solid, malty beer, with a mellow hoppiness.
