3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A mid Amber gold coloured beer with a thick and frothy white head. A light, but noticeable hop aroma, some citrus fruit and grassy. Dry mouthfeel. The taste continues the hop theme, a mild bitterness, citrusy and grassy, oily and a touch piney. There is a hint of dry biscuity malt in the background. The finish is bitter and hoppy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Coppery golden, frothy white head with lacing. Aroma typical english hops and bits of caramel and biscuit. High carbonation which is shame. Taste of light crystal malt quickly subsiding to hoppy body. Citrus fruit, light grape and green ripe apple notes. Massive dry bitter finish with lots of english character from Golding hops. Very good, very english.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml Bottle from Tesco, Gilesgate, Durham.
Pours deep amber/copper with large rocky, frothy off-white head but less noticeable carbonation than many bottle conditioned beers. Nose is less pronounced than with many modern IPAs but tropical fruit, vanilla, rubber and pine are detectable. Floral hop and an earthy, woody flavour dominate with a sharp bitterness that is a little thin on the palate as well as the hard to pin down plastic flavour often found in beers at a higher ABV than this one. On the whole itís nothing special, but still a decent, crisp, old-fashioned IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Orange light amber and opalescent with a small pillowy off white head. On the nose aromas of biscuit-caramel nuttiness with herbal, hay and earthy notes with a good chunk of jam impressions develop. Soft livelyness, somewhat slick and medium bodied. Some biscuit malt sweentess showing the way to balanced herbal bitterness. Medium finish.
