Brewed with a combination of five different malts, some heavily roasted for a near jet black appearance, and beneath its dark exterior features luxurious red berry notes, toasty aromas on the nose and culminates in a dry, bitter finish.

A drinkable stout without much of a punch. Dryish with a good roasted flavour, hints of blackcurrant & hops. Quite well balanced and not as bitter as some in this style. A little weaker in ABV than my usual taste.

Pours clear almost black with a nice thick creamy beige head. Aroma of toasted malts and coffee and a hint of sweetness. Taste is similar, heavy toasted, full of coffee at the start and astringent finish. Oily texture, soft carbonation and long dry aftertaste.

Bottle. Dark brown body with beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, prunes, cocoa. Taste of instant coffee, earthy hops, nice bitterness, taste is good, just not big enough, I want it more defined.

500 ml bottle with a B date of 6 Jan. 2014. Clear, very dark red-brown; opaque in the pint glass. Aroma: fine but faint. Feel: Medium body; medium+ (slightly too high?) carbonation. Flavor: mild and light up front; some richness, mainly from dark malts, in the finish and aftertaste. A hint of coffee. O: do not serve too cold: a richer and more complex flavor unfolds at warmer temps.

Great quaffing stout. Dryish but not enough to make it a dry stout, medium levels of roasted flavor and malt, thin body but it works as it is a session ale. Good, nice minerals too. Serving: Bottle

Bottle from local Citymarket. Pitch black color, medium brown foamy head with thick lacing. Aromas of mild roasted malts, some nuts. Nice toasted and burnt oak notes. Flavors are similar to aromas. Bitter ending with pleasant entity.

Has that unique Fullers sweetness I’ve come to expect with their beers. Roasty, sweet and tasty. A really enjoyable stout.

Tiefschwarzes Bier mit schöner bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmalzig, Kaffee, Schokolade. Geschmack röstmalzig trocken nach Kaffee, leicht würzig und herb.
