3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml Bottle: BBD 28 Apr 14, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 17 Nov 13.
Very, very dark body, itís black, just like itís name: the head was a tan blanket of foam.
The aroma is semi-burnt chocolate malts, as is the taste with coffee esters and a liquorice stick floating within.
Creamy, yet dry in flavour and mouth feel, easy on the palate and one of the best UK brewed Stouts around.

50cl bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub, shared with Casper. Opaque black color with a nice deep dark red to purple glare coming through when held into the light. Full sized light brown head. Smell malts, lightly coffee, lightly tea. Taste malts, dark malts, lightly tea, liquorice, slightly dusty, decently bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Nice.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Itís better, cause 1845 is too sweet and too mediocre tasting, inbetween color of light-dark.
Black Cab is more proper, slight taste of an ashtray, not sugary, pleases me for what this should be for a lower priced dark beer.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Norma Jean. Very dark brown to black with a tan head. Roasty aroma with chocolate, a bit of coffee and some dark fruitiness. Roasty flavor, bittersweet, with lots of dark chocolate, coffee notes, a touch of nuts and a light fruity hint. Medium-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. Nice stuff.

DWS My fourth beer today, tipsy after drinking some strong beers, but still think I will manage to make a fair rating :)
Deep brown colour, fast fading foam. Aroma of roasted malt, liqorice, spices..cinnamon. Taste sweet, dry fruits, round taste but short lasting. A bit watery..
A pretty good stout :)

DWG; Pours black with soapy, fading tan head. Nose of roasted, burnt malt and coffee. Also with light chocolate, dark fruits and hopps. Taste much the same with a medium soft mouth and a dry, pleasant finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A deep dark Stout with a thick collapsing brown head. In aroma, a sweet peaty chocolate malt with soy notes, bean puree, strange but not bad. In mouth, a smooth bitter chocolate with peated notes, light grassy hops, coffee grinds. Bottle from Tercer Tiempo in Asunciůn.
