Brewed with a combination of five different malts, some heavily roasted for a near jet black appearance, and beneath its dark exterior features luxurious red berry notes, toasty aromas on the nose and culminates in a dry, bitter finish.

500 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, bakers cocoa and charcoal. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, charcoal and bakers cocoa with a smooth lingering roasty finish.

500ml bottle. Excellent nose of caramel and toffee. Thick mouth feel as expected for a stout with a strong palate to back it up.

This is a pretty good stout for the area. Not too strong. A little roasted. Sweet.

Noire, grosse carbo, collet moyen de fine bulles, persistant. Aromes peu puissant, chocolat, café, pain Mousse cremeuse a souhait, vive et mince a l’attaque, l’interret se porte sur la finale persistante bien café et bien seche.

Bottle from milk store. Pours clear dark brown with light beige head. Faint nose of roast, berries, chocolate. Light body, nice and bitter with watery palate and a slightly toasty finish. Good enough for a low abv stout but a bit watery for my tastes.

Straightforward example of the genre. A bit lackluster in aroma and taste to be honest, but very easy to drink.

Bottle from Cool Wine 140416. It's heading towards stout weather so I'm getting in early. Smooth burnt flavours fill the mouth. Super dark in colour with a slight head. Hints of chocolate and vanilla in the finish.

Bottle. Thank you Ian. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of light roasted malts, light chocolate. Taste is light sweet, light bitter, light roasted, light chocolate. Light roasted aftertaste. Not bad.
