3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 50cl - Black opaque beer with a good head. Aroma is malty with notes of digestive biscuits, coffee, chocolate and cereal. Flavor is malty with notes of hay, biscuits, coffee and malt. Love it when stouts below 5% are this well made.

Pours out of the bottle in a deep dark black colour with low creamy head and medium body. Aroma of malt and torf. Taste of intense malt, torf, woods, nuts, campfire and dark grains. Earthy character and low carbonation. Nice and solid beer, enjoyed it a lot.

Dark, roasty, with nice bittering. Smell is a bit lagery? Same hops? Possibly drinking this way to cold.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml Bottle: BBD 28 Apr 14, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 17 Nov 13.
Very, very dark body, itís black, just like itís name: the head was a tan blanket of foam.
The aroma is semi-burnt chocolate malts, as is the taste with coffee esters and a liquorice stick floating within.
Creamy, yet dry in flavour and mouth feel, easy on the palate and one of the best UK brewed Stouts around.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Itís better, cause 1845 is too sweet and too mediocre tasting, inbetween color of light-dark.
Black Cab is more proper, slight taste of an ashtray, not sugary, pleases me for what this should be for a lower priced dark beer.
