COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
This strong full-bodied malty ale has been aged in 30-year-old Single Malt casks for a period of 500 days, infusing the ale with flavours and characteristics of the whisky that has absorbed into the wood. Flavours include a balance of hoppy bitterness and tangy marmalade, rounded off with subtle smoky vanilla notes and a hint of whisky.

Bottled. A red beer with a huge light tan head. The aroma has notes of metal, whiskey, alcohol, caramel, and berries. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, red berries, alcohol, wood, whiskey, and caramel, as well as lighter notes of smoke and vanilla, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. The alcohol warms the palate.

Bottle 50 cl. Bottle # 11555. Pours a clear warm amber golden with a handsome off-white head. Sweet vanilla aroma. Medium body, sweetish caramel and fruit with a distinct oaky touch. Some alcohol in the finish. Decent alright if not exactly thrilling. 280209

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2009 From cask. Citric to mild malty flavour and aroma. Lingering chocolate and towards mild fruity base flavour with a mild bitterness showing through. Smooth and and brettish base flavour. Mild acidic and fruity note to the finish. Slight salty finish (nah - that was the pretzels I had..). ANyhow, was a bit off with the brett aroma I assume - but quite nice and not more of than many other served casks or bottled beers.

Bottled (thanks omhper!). Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is licorice, fruity hops and quite lemony as well. Also some fudge and caramel malts as it waems up. Flavour is caramel malts, fruits and some slightly yeasty notes. Some whisky and oaky notes become more present when getting warm. Very nicely balanced.

Bottled. Clear amber, rich head. Oaky vanilla aroma. Sweet with strong whisky flavour. Solid caramelly body with that does not marry well with th whisky, making the beer somewhat one-dimensional.

Cask, 7.0% at EBF08. Vinous aroma, citric funky flavour. Someone infected this with brett.

Beautiful amber color; generous head. Mild caramel aroma, warming but nothing special. Good body strength, caramel flavor, residual sweetness, correct bitterness, maybe a touch of wood. Quite well brewed, but ordinary.
